Kedong Ranch House Naivasha is situated in Kedong Ranch (82,000 acres of land without fences) on the southern side of Lake Naivasha. This peaceful getaway is a home away from home, offering comfortable accommodation in Naivasha, set on a hill between Lake Naivasha and Mount Longonot, within Hell’s Gate Park on the Rift Valley floor.

The Lodge is located in the Rift Valley, Naivasha, 80 km from Nairobi. The original House was built by Martha Gellhorn, a former wife of the American writer Ernest Hemingway.

Kedong Ranch House offers lovely views of Lake Naivasha, Mount Longonot, the Suswa Hills, the vast plains, and Hell’s Gate. Hell’s Gate National Park is 15 km away, while the main town, Naivasha, is approximately 26 km away.

Lake Naivasha is about 13 km from the facility. Set in a serene, private place with good food, it is ideal for honeymooners and business executives seeking a peaceful getaway. The guest house has 20 spacious, clean, and cozy rooms with beautiful views and can accommodate up to 40 guests in double occupancy. Conference facilities are also available.

The nearest airport is Wilson Airport, 79 km from the property.

Conveniently built in the wild, the house served as a shelter for the Legendary American writer Ernest Miller Hemingway during his hunting adventures in East African Parks.

Kedong Ranch House is surrounded by wildlife and livestock alike. Amongst the many species of wildlife that roam freely in the open plains of Naivasha Kedong, Private Wilderness includes eland, giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Zebra, Impala, Gazelle, Hartebeest, Warthog, Hyena, Jackal, Bat-Eared Fox, and Spring Hare.

The facility has 20 rooms that can accommodate 40 guests. This peaceful getaway is a home away from home, blending old-world “ranch” with modern conveniences.

The colonial-style ranch house has a variety of rooms, all of which are en suite and feature modern amenities. The lodge offers a seating area with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. A terrace with mountain views is offered in all units.

Longonot Ranch House ‘Kinangop’ and ‘Ol Karia’ rooms are twin-bedded with dining and sitting rooms in between. ‘The Happy Valley’, a honeymoon suite, is adjacent. The facility has an on-site restaurant and bar where guests can enjoy meals and drinks. Packed lunches are available with prior requests.
