Kedong Ranch House Naivasha is situated in Kedong Ranch (82,000 acres of land without fences) on the southern side of Lake Naivasha. This peaceful getaway is a home away from home and offers comfortable accommodation in Naivasha and is set on a hill between Lake Naivasha and Mount Longonot, inside Hells Gate Park on the Rift Valley floor. The Lodge is located in the Rift Valley, Naivasha, 80 km only from Nairobi. The original House was built by Martha Gellhorn, a former wife to the American writer Ernest Hemmingway.

Kedong Ranch House has lovely views of Lake Naivasha, Mount Longonot, Suswa Hills, vast plains, and Hells Gate. Hells Gate National Park is 15 km away while the main town Naivasha is approximately 26 km away. Lake Naivasha is about 13 km from the facility. Set in a serene, private place with good food, its location is ideal for honeymooners and business executives wanting a peaceful getaway. The guest house has 20 spacious, clean, and cozy rooms with beautiful views and can accommodate up to 40 guests in double occupancy. Conference facilities are also available.

Kedong Ranch House Naivasha is located on 80,000 acres at the Kedong Private Ranch which Straddles the slopes of Mount Longonot and borders Hell’s Gate National Park to the West. Nairobi is a 2-hour drive away or 25 minutes flight away. The nearest airport is Wilson Airport, 79 km from the property.

Conveniently built in the wild the house was used by the Legendary American writer Ernest Miller Hemingway as his shelter during his hunting adventures in East African Parks.

Kedong Ranch House is surrounded by wildlife and livestock alike. Amongst the many species of wildlife that roam freely in the open plains of Naivasha Kedong, Private Wilderness includes eland, giraffe, Cape Buffalo, Zebra, Impala, Gazelle, Hartebeest, Warthog, Hyena, Jackal, Bat Eared Fox, and Spring Hare, etc.

The facility has 20 rooms that can accommodate 40 guests. This peaceful getaway is a home away from home, with a blend of old-world “ranch” and modern convenience.

The colonial-style ranch house has a variety of rooms, all rooms are en suite and feature modern amenities. The lodge offers a seating area with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. A terrace with mountain views is offered in all units.

Longonot Ranch House ‘Kinangop’ and ‘Ol Karia’ rooms are twin-bedded with dining and sitting rooms in between. ‘The Happy Valley’, a honeymoon suite, is adjacent. The facility has a restaurant and a bar on site where guests can enjoy meals and drinks. Packed lunches are available with prior requests.
