Typically, a Kenya and Uganda fly-in safari package will include flights via a small Cessna or Caravan aircraft from an international airport such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kisumu International Airport or Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.
From here you will connect to regional airports and at times make your way to your main destinations by light aircraft. You’ll head out into the bush by air, sometimes landing on just a dirt airstrip in the middle of the wild, which adds another edge to the spirit of adventure. They are typically located conveniently near the lodge or camp.
This is a really fantastic way to see the wilderness and you’ll get some awesome views from the air on the way. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a representative from your camp or lodge followed by a transfer (often by open safari vehicle) to the accommodation booked where you will enjoy game drives, night drives, walking safaris, gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking or Cultural experiences and hiking activities.
At the end of the safari, you’ll transfer back to your departing airport by light aircraft, or choose to travel on-wards to another camp on your itinerary, anywhere in East Africa!
