Kibale Forest Camp Uganda

Kibale Forest Camp is a 3-star accommodation located just off the main road Fort Portal—Kamwenge, 17 minutes drive from Kibale National Park and 38 km from Fort Portal.

The Camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest, just outside the southern part of the National Park. It borders the Magombe swamp, known for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, and is a mere is a 10 min drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Center. The place from where your Chimp track will start.

Kibale National Park covers an area of about 795km and is located between 1100 and 1600 meters in elevation. Despite encompassing primarily moist evergreen forest, it contains a diverse array of landscapes. It is a habitat for many forest wildlife including 13 species of primates.

Kibale Forest Camp consists of 12 African safari-style tents & 10 non-self-contained tents.  The safari tents are comfortably furnished with twin or double beds. Each unit has its own private ensuite bathroom with a flush toilet, a dressing room, and a hot water shower. Seated from your private veranda, the red or black and white colobus are often observed in the dense camp surroundings.

The non-self-contained tents are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds, a bedside table with a lamp, and a power outlet for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are placed under a grass thatched roof which creates your private terrace. The tents share a communal ablution block with hot showers and flushing toilets. All bedding and towels are provided.

The bar and restaurant are situated in a beautiful wooden grass-thatched building. The open structure blends perfectly with the surroundings and overlooks a lush colorful garden. It is in this cozy restaurant that your breakfast, delicious 2-course lunches, and 4-course dinners will be served.

Activities available from Kibale Forest Camp include; Chimpanzee Tracking, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, Birding, Night Walks, Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, Exploration of the Crater Lakes, Mahoma Waterfalls, and Visits to the Tea Estates.
