Kirurumu Tarangire Camp is situated in a private Maasai concession area bordering the Tarangire National Park and is ideally situated only 10 minutes off the main tarmac road and only 15 minutes drive from the main Tarangire park gate.

Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is 35km from the center of Tarangire National Park, the nearest airport is Kuro Airstrip approximately 66.4km away.

Tarangire National Park is known for its majestic Baobab trees. These can grow to an enormous size and have a unique shape. The Park is also famous as it has the largest concentration of elephants in the world! You can see herds of up to 300 elephants around the Tarangire River. 

The Lodge is built on the site of the old Tamarind Camp, looking out on a flood plain that is seasonally a rich feeding ground for elephants and much else. Tarangire is your backyard no fences, and no walls.

Kirurumu Tarangire Camp has 10 tented cottages consisting of 2 Double Rooms, 2 Family Rooms, and 6 Twin Rooms, all include a personal verandah that looks over Tarangire National Park. The main dining tent is atmospheric, with relaxed seating around the fire.

Facilities available at the camp include; Garden, Free Wifi, Daily Housekeeping, Coffee & Tea In-Room Service as well as Pressure Boosters Hot Rain Showers for the perfect rinse after a long day on safari. Fully ensuite bathrooms, hot and cold running water.

The tents are large walk-in safari tents. They are simply furnished with beds covered in batik bedspreads and simple bedside tables. The en suite bathrooms have tin washbasins and bucket showers (plenty of hot water is provided).

The Lodge also offers a bar with great views of the watering hole and makes for enjoyable evenings and sundowners. Guests can enjoy their meals in the dining room equipped with waiter service and internet facilities are also available at the reception.

Activities available at Kirurumu Tarangire Camp include; Maasai-guided ethnobotanical walks, Mountain Biking, Day treks, and hikes, Game Viewing, Night Game drives, and An Evening with real Maasai.
