Kivuko Eco Camp Taita Wildlife Conservancy is an exceptional destination nestled in the heart of the Taita Wildlife Conservancy, just 15km from the Batchuma Gate. The camp is only one and a half hours from Mombasa and is located on 98,000 of Taita conservation area on the border of Tsavo East National Park.

The camp is set on 98,000 acres and is situated along MacKinnon Road, 32 miles from Kilalinda Wildlife Conservancy. The camp is situated approximately 1-2 hours from Mombasa and a 4-5 hours (330km) drive from Nairobi City and an hour flight from Voi airstrip followed by 45 minutes transfer to the camp.

KivuKo Eco camp consists of 8 spacious and comfortable traditional rooms with a family house unit overlooking the Taita hills that is built in a African Traditional style with grass roofs and local woods. The camp accommodates up to 20 guests.

All rooms have en-suite facilities that include a bathroom with hot showers, bunk beds, clean flush toilets,  mosquito nets, wooden comfortable chairs and tables, free bottled water in the rooms, comfortable beds with clean beddings, free toiletries to mention but a few. There are single, double, and triple occupancy tents available.

The main house is a large open circular building with a dining room overlooking the hill that serves different meals both international and African-inspired meals to meet guests’ choice. Meals are served in place of your choice either the dining area or the veranda overlooking the park. They offer buffet breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner.

All meals are served by well-trained, friendly, and welcoming staff. Other meals include bush barbeque dinners served under the stars and also bush breakfast while enjoying the sunrise. There is also a well-stocked lounge bar with a variety of refreshments both alcoholic and non-alcoholic where one can enjoy drinks as one overlooks the wilderness you relax and sip any drink of your choice while overlooking the breathtaking views of the hill and surrounding areas.

WI-FI internet is available in the main building which enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends. The intimacy and the warm hospitality of this eco safari camp make for a memorable safari in Taita Wildlife Conservancy  – a wildlife migratory corridor between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks in Kenya.

KivuKo Eco camp activities include;
Hiking:
Enjoy a hike at Kizima Hill to view the World War I historical sites. Wildlife can also be viewed on top of the hill.

 Conservation Visits: Visit widows, take a tour of their greenhouses, and Kasigau women basket weavers. Visitors are encouraged to take part in tree planting in neighborhood schools.
Bush Walks:  The guided bush walks offer a greater sense of intimacy, getting you closer to nature. Our experienced, armed guides and trackers are there to ensure your safety and share the secrets of the African bush. The guides brief you on how to react should you encounter a large animal in the wild. They also tell you all about the secrets of tracking wildlife, the complexities of termite mounds, and many other interesting facts.
* Game Drives in Tsavo National Park: Guests can either enjoy well-planned game drives or conduct their self-driven game drives with the help of a guide. These can be morning, evening, or night drives. You are bound to enjoy spotting a variety of wildlife as the conservancy boasts over 50 species of large mammals, and over 300 bird species.
Bird Walks: Birdlife in Taita Wildlife Conservancy features over 300 species, the most prolific being marsh warbler, river warbler, red-backed shrike, thrush nightingale, common whitethroat, and African eagles. Visitors are treated to spectacular views especially evening hours by flying eagles and other birds. Bird lovers with the assistance of experienced sharps eyes of guides are guaranteed of variety of birds within the conservancy.

Kivuko Eco camp

Kivuko Eco Camp Taita Wildlife Conservancy is nestled in a little tranquil spot within the Taita Wildlife Conservancy – a wildlife migratory corridor between Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks. The ranch is ideally located along the Mombasa- Nairobi A109 highway stretching from Maungu to Makinnon with Rukanga at its epicenter.

Taita Wildlife Conservancy is accessible from Mombasa and Nairobi through SGR via Miasenyi station. The main Gate is opposite the Buchuma gate of Tsavo East National Park. The distance from Nairobi to the conservancy is 382km and 102km from Mombasa via Mombasa Road.

As a game corridor, Taita Wildlife Conservancy hosts many animals and plants. The area boasts over 50 species of large mammals, and over 300 bird species according to a census conducted in 2008. The conservancy is home to endangered gravy zebra and African Sandalwood.

Kivuko Eco Camp is located at the foot of Kivuko Hill overlooking Mt Kasigau, Rukinga, and Marungu Hills. Mount Kilimanjaro can also be spotted occasionally within the year. The rooms are strategically positioned to overlook the water hole where several wildlife can be spotted enjoying the cool waters. The source of power is green energy.
