Lake Jipe Bandas Cottages

Lake Jipe Bandas Cottages are 3 self-catering bandas located in Tsavo West National Park,150 km from the Mtito Andei Gate (main gate). The camp is 5 minute drive from the park’s entrance.

The guesthouse is 232 km from Nairobi and 249 km from Mombasa. Driving time from Nairobi takes approximately 5 hours. The cottage has spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and has its own waterhole frequented every night by various animals.

Lake Jipe Bandas Cottages has 2 single beds, mosquito nets, water, kerosene lamps, utensils, and cooking ware. Guests bring drinking water, a gas cooker, candles, flashlights, insect repellent, food, beverages, firewood, and charcoal. 

There are shared facilities like the washrooms, security, and a campfire with chairs. The onsite restaurant serves African and European cuisine. Guests can have the option of dining in the dining area or in outdoors.

The well-stocked bar serves a variety of chilled alcoholic and soft drinks. The camp’s highlights are spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, visits to Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Mzima Springs, Shetani lava flow & wildlife.

The sitting room is furnished and spacious featuring a fireplace along with a door leading to the veranda. There is an outside seating area where there are steps that lead one to the upper deck for wildlife viewing.

The guesthouse is on a self-catering basis and has a kitchen well equipped with gas, a stove, a refrigerator, kitchen utensils, cutlery, a crockery, and glasses. Here guests are welcome to prepare their own meals.

There is also an open-plan dining room with tables and benches on the verandah. One can also view the following wildlife: leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, lion, hippo, and crocodile.
