Lake Natron Tented Camp is a 3-star accommodation facility that lies in the northeast of Tanzania in between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti plains. The camp is situated at the base of Africa’s only active volcano Oldonyo Lengai (Mountain of God).

Here it is the landscape rather than the animals that is the attraction – the area around the lake inhabited by Maasai is dry, desolate, and hauntingly beautiful. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world.

The lake is home to millions of tiny crustaceans, attracting literally thousands of lesser flamingos and it is, therefore, one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth.

Unique in its setting, Lake Natron Tented Camp is set back in a grove of trees adjacent to the shores of the lake. Basic but clean safari tents offer showers, comfortable beds, and a private veranda. A fully stocked bar and candlelit restaurant ensure you have a cold drink and delicious food at the end of an arduous climb or long day of walking.

Lake Natron Tented Camp has 20 spacious tents with attached bathrooms. The Bathrooms have an open-air shower, flush toilet, wash hand basin, soap, towels, and bottled water. Each tent has a private veranda, Mosquito nets, mosquito coils, candles & matches.

* Day rooms are available and can be used between the hours of 11 AM to 6 PM

* The latest check-out time is 6 PM. A room can be shared by a maximum of 4 people for showering etc
* Lake Natron Tented Camp offers 5 budget rooms – Maasai Bandas. The price is 10% off the standard room rates
* Guests should be aware that there may be inadequate hot water for all four persons due to the water heaters being individual to each cottage
