Lamai Serengeti Nomad Camp Tanzania

Lamai Serengeti Nomad Camp Tanzania is a luxury lodge set between the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje in Northern Serengeti. The camp commands never-ending views over the magnificent Mara River valley. The camp is usually accessed via 45 minutes road transfer from the Kogatende airstrip. 

Lamai Serengeti Nomad Camp has 12 tents. Main Lodge has 8 rooms and Private Lodge, which can be booked on an exclusive basis, has just four. Two of the Main Lodge rooms are suitable for family use.

All rooms are open-fronted, offering uninterrupted views over the Serengeti’s sprawling plains! Each occupies a timber-and-thatch structure that’s nicely nestled into the Kogakuria kopjes and positioned with maximum privacy in mind. With every standard room, a wooden door leads into the spacious bedroom.

The bedroom flows out onto the deck, which is set with a small table and a couple of chairs. Back in the room, another wooden door opens into the washroom, which contains a flush toilet, twin washbasins, a step-up shower, and a useful storage unit. From here, a stable-style door leads onto the deck.

The two family rooms benefit from all the features of the standard room, and each also has an extra twin bedroom for children. Rather than en-suite arrangements, there’s one large shower room, which is shared.

All rooms are open-fronted, offering uninterrupted views over the Serengeti’s sprawling plains! The accommodation is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, and a laundry service. Four of its rooms can be booked for exclusive use. The camp is closed for maintenance from mid-March to the end of May.

Dinner is a lavish three-course meal. Each lodge has a bar too, and Main has an additional library and curio shop. Both Main and Private boast a sparkling swimming pool.

Activities available from Lamai Serengeti include; game drives, safari walks, bush picnics, sundowners, game drives, short bushwalks, etc.

Check-in – Check-out Time

* Rooms will be available from 1300hrs on the day of arrival. Early check-in will be subject to the manager’s discretion on the day of arrival
* Rooms must be vacated by 1000hrs. Clients wishing to keep their rooms for longer will be charged 75% of the room rate in the High Season and 50% in the Low Season

Children’s Rates & Policy

* The minimum age is 8 years to 21 years
* Child park entry and camping/concession fees apply for up to 16 years
* Children aged 12 years and under must share a room or family tent/room with an adult
* Children under 12 years are not permitted to walk, chimp, or fly camp due to safety reasons
* A child occupying a single room will be charged at the full adult rate plus a single supplement

Family Rooms & Triple – Family rooms sleep 2 Adults and 2 Children

*  The camp can accommodate up to two triples in each camp – the third bed in a room is suitable for up to 16 years only and we do not allow 3 adults in a triple
