Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp Tanzania is a safari accommodation facility located in an ancient acacia forest on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. The camp is secluded and tranquil, with the key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro being the quick and easy drive down onto the crater floor.

Ngorongoro Tented Camp is located next to the quiet Lemala crater access road on the eastern side. You can be at the camp by road from Arusha town in about 3-4 hours drive, then an hour to fly from Arusha to Manyara airstrip. The nearest airstrip is Manyara, just a 75-minute drive away.

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp Tanzania has 9 spacious tents that are positioned carefully to provide privacy and with minimal impact on the pristine forest environment. The tents have an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, a hot safari-style shower and24-hour solar electricity with a backup generator

They accommodate two queen-size beds, and as it can get cool on the Ngorongoro Crater rim at night, little luxuries like warm winter-weight duvets, hot water bottles, and gas heaters ensure a cozy night’s sleep.

The roomy en-suite bathrooms contain a dressing area, a flush toilet, and a large safari-style shower. The mess tent is beautifully furnished with grand sofas, lamps, bookshelves, and corner cabinets in old wood, chests, and rugs.

There is a Mess tent with an adjoining lounge and bar. Complimentary internet and Charging facilities are available in the lounge and bar. In the evening, guests can gather around the campfire to exchange tales of the day’s safari followed by a sumptuous hearty meal. 

Ngorongoro has different animals including the big five mammals of the world; Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants,  Leopards, Rhinos, Zebras, Impalas, Antelopes, and different bird species.

Activities available from Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp include; Bush dinners and sundowner cocktails, Cultural visits, Hiking, a Game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area, etc.

Child Policy

* There are age restrictions on walking safaris
* 2nd/3rd each child sharing with adult/s 50% of adult rate

* Children under the age of 3 are advised against staying in our bush properties
* If a child of 15 years is in their own room they will be charged as per the adult rate
