Lewa Safari Camp Laikipia

Lewa Safari Camp Laikipia is situated on the Northern foothills of Mount Kenya on the 65,000 acres privately-owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (also known as Lewa Downs).

Lewa main Airstrip is an hour’s flight from Wilson Airport and a transfer to the lodge takes approximately 40 minutes. Nanyuki Airstrip transfer takes 2 hours to the camp. The driving time from Nairobi takes approximately 5 hours.

Lewa Safari Camp has 13 luxurious tents comprising 11 safari tents and 2 family tents. Three of the safari tents can accommodate triples. Each tent is on raised platforms under thatched roofs and features electric lighting, a large double bed, and an en-suite bathroom with shower and flush toilets.

Each family tent has an en-suite master bedroom and an en-suite twin room, which are joined together by a private veranda/sitting area. Each family tent accommodates a family of 5.

Lewa Safari Camp Lewa Wildlife Conservancy Laikipia has a main lounge constructed of cedarwood and houses the dining room, lounge, and bar. Meals are prepared from locally sourced produce. Guests may enjoy their meals in the dining area, by the pool, or on the well-manicured lawns.

There is an outdoor pool with sun loungers where guests can take a deep in the hot days or just relax and unwind by the pool. The camp also has a spa where guests can enjoy massages, manicures, and pedicures as they are relaxing. The well-manicured gardens provide suitable venues for weddings and the renewal of vows for guests. 

Lewa Conservancy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it has some of the best game viewings in the whole of East Africa. The conservancy is home to about 10% of Kenya’s black rhino population, and the single largest population of Grevy’s zebra in the world.

It’s home to 350 bird species and 70 mammal species so you’ll have a great chance to see all of the ‘big five’ — lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos — well as specialized northern species: eg Reticulated giraffes, Somali ostrich, Gerenuk, Beisa oryx.

Lewa Safari Camp Activities Include day and evening game drives, guided bush walks, sundowners, bush meals, visit to Ngare Ndare Forest, camel riding and horse riding, village visits, Massages, manicures, and pedicures.
