Mantis Akagera Game Lodge Rwanda

Akagera Game Lodge is a luxury lodge located in the southern section of the Akagera National Park and boasts panoramic views of Lake Ihema and the smaller Lake Shikani. The lodge is situated just 5km from the South entrance of the Park, and only a 20-minute drive to Lake Ihema.

Akagera National Park offers a truly exceptional wildlife experience. It is the only Big-5 reserve in Rwanda and is also home to the rare swamp-dwelling Sitatunga. Guests also have the opportunity to see an abundance of birdlife, including the rare Shoebill stork, the endangered papyrus Gonolex and the much sought-after Red-faced Barbet.

With over 500 recorded species, Akagera is one of the best birding environs in the world with the highest recorded number of species per unit area. The Park has a unique diversity of habitats, including lakes, marshes, savannah, mountains, and woodland, and is the largest protected wetland in central Africa.

Akagera Game Lodge has 60 air-conditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms consist of 27 Standard Rooms, 29 Balcony Rooms, 1 Balcony Suite, and 1 Presidential Suite. 

The 27 Standard Rooms, and 29 Balcony Rooms, each of which has been styled in contemporary African décor. All rooms can be booked with twin or double bed configurations. The 1 Balcony Suite is styled in contemporary African décor, the en-suite bathroom comes with a lounge area.

1 Presidential Suite – The suite comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms accommodation a maximum of 4 guests, the main bedroom boasting its own private patio overlooking the hills and valleys of the National Park. The suite has its own fully fitted kitchen, a beautifully appointed dining room seating up to 10 guests, and a separate lounge.

The downstairs rooms are larger, allowing space for children under 12 to share, as well as an option for families to book inter-leading rooms. Upstairs rooms are smaller and have balconies overlooking the park.

Other Lodge amenities include; a conference Room, Board Rooms, Free Wi-fi, Tennis Court, Swimming Pool, a restaurant, a bar, and a spectacular pool deck, the Lodge is the perfect home base while conferencing or exploring the conservation treasures of Akagera National Park.

* Presidential Suite – 2,700 US Dollars per night, inclusive of accommodation, breakfast, and dinner for up to 4 people sharing

Child Policy:

* Mattresses are provided for children to share with parents
* Balcony rooms/suites cannot accommodate children sharing with adults
* Children aged 0 – 6 sharing with parents in a standard room are entitled to a buffet and set-menu meals free of charge
* Children aged 7 – 12 sharing with parents in a standard room are charged 50% of the adult rate for buffet and set menu meals
* A maximum of 2 children between 0 – 12 may share a standard room with their parent/s and are accommodated Free of charge
* Inter-leading rooms: Standard and Balcony Interleading rooms are available. A maximum of 3 children up to the age of 12 are accommodated in their own room and are charged at 50% of the room rate including breakfast
