Mara Elatia Camp Masai Mara

Mara Elatia Camp Masai Mara is a luxury tented camp gracefully perched along the Oloololo escarpment (where the epic movie “Out of Africa” was filmed) in the Mara Triangle Conservancy (Masai Mara Game Reserve). The closest entrance to Masai Mara is the Oloololo gate, only a few kilometers from the camp. The camp is situated approximately 280 km from Nairobi by road (4-5 hours’ drive), and a 50-minute flight to Kichwa Tembo airstrip followed by a 45 minutes transfer to the camp.

This intimate camp features 12 spacious permanent tents which have been tastefully decorated and furnished with double beds and mosquito nets. Mara Elatia tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, washbasins, and hot showers.  The tents also have free Wi-Fi, and a private balcony where guests can sit back and watch the bush, enjoying the views of the Mara and beyond. The tents include 6 double tents (2 double tents with a sitting area) & 6 Twin tents (1 twin tent with a sitting area).

Mara Elatia Camp activities include a Hot Air Balloon ride over the Masai Mara, morning and evening 4×4 safari game drives, seeing the Wildebeest Migration, enjoying Cultural Visits with the Masai, visiting the Mara River, birdwatching, visiting Mfangano Island on Lake Victoria, guided nature walks, horseback safaris, sundowners, and bush breakfast/dinner, and visiting a private Conservancy.

Mara Elatia Camp Masai Mara is a luxury safari-tented camp located in the Masai Mara National Reserve with a restaurant, a bar, and a 24-hour front desk. The camp is nestled in the peaceful northwestern plains of the Mara Triangle Conservancy. 

ELatia, meaning “The Good Neighbour” in Maa, has 12 twelve tents located along the Oloololo escarpment of the Masai Mara. The camp overlooks the Mara River which is famous for the annual wildebeest migration between the months of July and September and faces one of the three ‘Kalema Hills’ where the epic movie “Out of Africa” was filmed.

The sophisticated tented camp offers a relaxing breather experience in the wild only found at the escarpment. These include the amazing sight-seeing of the Mbuzi Mawe commonly known as Klipspringer from the comfort of your balcony. The Klipspringer is a dwarf antelope known for its remarkable jumping ability on rocky escarpments.

Guests are also given a tour of the Rhino Sanctuary which has Seven White Rhinos at an extra cost. Elatia Camp is approximately 280km from Nairobi, Kenya, and can be accessed by both air (approximately 45 mins) and road ( approximately 6 hours) drive through Narok town.

The camp has 12 tents available to the guests with modern ensuite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, a rain shower, and a private balcony. They include; 6 double tents (2 double tents with a sitting area) and 6 Twin tents and  – 1 twin tent with a sitting area.
