Mara Siana Camp Mara Ripoi Conservancy Masai Mara National Reserve is an intimate and eco-friendly camp in the pristine Ripoi Conservancy (formerly Olarro South), a stunning undiscovered area outside the Masai Mara National Reserve.  Ripoi Conservancy is inhabited by a large number of mammals, amongst other animals and birds. The Conservancy hosts healthy populations of big cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs), as well as plenty of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and other herbivores.

Mara Siana camp is 50% Masai and 50% female owned. The bush camp consists of just 8 tents (6 regular tents and 2 family tents) with two bedrooms and two bathrooms each creating an intimate and exclusive safari adventure. All tents are beautifully appointed with luxury linens and comfortable furnishings, as well as private decks for lounging while watching the amazing wildlife grazing and gathering at the waterhole. The tents are all equipped with double sinks in the bathroom and are solar-powered for 24-hour hot running water, electricity, and charging stations. There is an outdoor campfire as well as indoor fireplaces in the main area. The camp is accessed through scheduled and charter flights to Siana Springs or Keekork Airstrip. By road, the camp is approximately 4 hours from Nairobi.

Mara Siana Camp is open all year and offers guests the opportunity to see the Big Five and a profusion of other wild animals roaming the untamed plains of the Masai Mara in Kenya. Escape the crowds in the private Ripoi Conservancy of the Mara ecosystem and explore the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve in 4×4 safari vehicles with exceptional Safari guides. A stay at the camp includes full board accommodation, soft drinks, local beers, non-premium wines and spirits, laundry, airstrip transfers (Siana & Keekorok ), and statutory taxes. Mara Siana Camp activities included shared day game drives in the Ripoi Conservancy, bush breakfasts and lunches, guided walks, HELICOPTER FLIGHTS over the Masai Mara and into the surrounding area using a Robinson R44 helicopter which takes take a maximum of 3 passengers, and Masai village visits. Mara Siana is a small upscale camp in the newly formed Ripoi Conservancy (formerly Olarro South), a stunning undiscovered area outside the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is 50% Masai and 50% female owned. Six double ensuite tents – four kings and two twins. Two family tents with two bedrooms and two bathrooms each.

“Big Seven” game viewing with three wild dog dens within the conservancy and a healthy cheetah population as well as year-round non-migrating wildebeest. We also, on occasion, see striped hyenas and pangolins. There are 19,500 acres of private conservancy land for the exclusive use of the three small camps.

We have world-class directors/guides with over 75 years of guiding/management experience. Jackson Looseyia, one of Africa’s top 15 legendary guides and co-star of Big Cat Tales, is the driving force behind this project.

1.) Where is Mara Ripoi Conservancy?

Mara Ripoi Conservancy is a 19,500-acre wildlife conservancy that is on a tranche of land belonging to about 1,600 local Maasai individuals from the community who have leased it out for 25 years so that the area can be conserved as protected habitat for the teeming wildlife. The conservancy connects to Siana Conservancy and then directly to the Mara Reserve, allowing free movement of wildlife from the Reserve as well as across a wildlife corridor along the Ripole River to Ol Kinyei Conservancy.


2.) Where is Mara Siana Luxury Camp Located?

The camp is located in the Mara Ripoi Conservancy just outside Kenya’s famed Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is a 90-minute drive from Narok, approximately 15 kilometers before the Sekenani gate entrance to the Masai Mara– and then 15 kilometers once you turn off that road.

It is also accessible by air, with the Siana Springs airstrip (ten minutes away) or the Keekorok airstrip (one hour away) being viable options.  Mara Siana has eight tents, six double en-suite tents, and two family tents, with each family tent having two bedrooms, each with its own two bathrooms.

The tents each feature a private deck, and double vanity bathroom, and are powered by solar energy to provide hot running water. The camp’s amenities include a dining area, and there are plans to construct a gym shortly. Activities include game drives, bush walks, village visits, night drives, cultural walks, balloon safaris, spear and arrow throwing, walking safaris, and visits to local schools.

Mara Ripoi Conservancy is home to only three small safari camps that have exclusive use of the conservancy for game drives and other activities. They are:

Porini Giraffe Camp: A small and intimate eco-friendly tented camp located in a forested area of Camphor bush (African Wild Sage or called Leleshwa in Kenya) and Yellow Bark Acacia along the Ripole River in the Mara Ripoi Conservancy. The camp has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Masai Mara, providing a great alternative to the large mass-market tourist lodges. The camp has a dining tent and a separate comfortable lounge all located along the Ripole River.

Mara Siana Camp: A small upscale camp with eight tents – six double en-suite tents and two family tents, each with a private deck, a double vanity bathroom, and solar power. The camp offers privacy, peace, and exclusive access to the wildlife-rich conservancy. The camp also offers free Wi-Fi, laundry service, room service & 24-hour security. Lalashe Mara Ripoi: A small intimate luxury tented camp with only five very luxurious tented suites, each with a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, and stunning views of the valley and the wildlife. The camp offers personalized service, a fully stocked bar, a pool table, a satellite TV lounge, and in-room spa service. The camp also has a dedicated silver-level safari guide and a 4×4 open-sided game viewer for each booking.
