Mbali Mbali Gombe Lodge is a small intimate lodge located in Gombe Stream National Park, off the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Gombe Stream National Park is a thin strip of ancient mountain forest bordering the second deepest lake in the world, Lake Tanganyika.

Gombe is the smallest of Tanzania’s national parks, roughly just about 60 sq km. It is home to chimpanzees, habituated to human visitors, who were made famous by the pioneering work of Jane Goodall, who founded a behavioral research program that now stands as the longest-running study of its kind in the world.

The nearest airport is Kigoma Airport. When guests arrive at Kigoma Airport, they are transferred to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel by vehicle (20 minutes drive), then proceed on a dhow boat transfer from Kigoma Hilltop Hotel’s private beach to Mbali Mbali Gombe Lodge (2 hours). The journey to the lodge is an adventure in itself.

The lodge has 7 Forest Tents (1 Double, 6 Twins). Accommodating only 14 guests at a time. The tents are set on wooden platforms beneath mango groves on the lakeshore, the 7 elegantly furnished luxury tents of Gombe Lodge were designed to have every comfort while minimizing disturbance and impact on the stunning environment.

Each tent has an ensuite bathroom and a furnished private balcony. Other Room facilities include; Balcony / Deck, Lounge Area, Shower, Mosquito Nets, Tea / Coffee, Pure Cotton Linen, and Verandah. 

Lodge facilities include; a swimming pool, Complimentary Laundry Service, 24-hour Security, Bar, Battery Charging Facilities, Complimentary Eco-Friendly Internet Access (Wi-fi), Library, and a restaurant.
