Mbali Mbali Katavi Lodge is a 3.5-star lodge situated in the center of Katavi National Park, offering an exciting bush experience with breathtaking views over the vast plains of Katisunga.  The nearest airstrip is Katavi Ikuu Airstrip in Katavi National Park located about 0.5 hours drive from the lodge. 

The lodge is ideal for the traveler looking for a truly remote experience away from regular tourist routes. Here you will find animals curious and unfamiliar with human contact. The flotillas of pelicans are a special sight.

Game viewing is exceptionally rewarding at Katavi due to the sheer abundance of wildlife. The park boasts a wonderful array of habitats, which range from flood plains of thick reeds and dense waterways that teem with hippos and crocodiles to woodlands, open grasslands, forests, and pristine seasonal lakes.

Guests who arrive at Katavi Ikuu Airstrip will proceed on a vehicle transfer from Katavi Ikuu Airstrip to the Mbali Mbali Katavi (0.5 hours). Mbali Mbali Shared Charter flights are offered to Katavi Ikuu Airstrip on Mondays and Thursdays with a minimum of 4 seats all year round. 

Mbali Mbali Katavi Lodge Tanzania has been designed to blend in with its surroundings to avoid distracting from the beauty of Katavi, and herds of animals can be seen right from your tent. 

The lodge is open-sided, and you can enjoy amazing views wherever you choose to be. You can even dine on the deck, or cozy up by the fireplace on chilly nights. With lanterns hanging overhead and the sounds of nature all around, the area can feel incredibly atmospheric. The lodge has 10 Safari Tents with a combination of twin or double rooms.

Room facilities include; writing desks, fine linen, balcony/deck, Lounge area, en-suite bathrooms, etc. The main deck houses a swimming pool, library, lounge, bar, and dining facilities to complement the breathtaking views of the Katisunga Plains. The food and drink are delicious, with a variety of options available; breakfast and lunch in camp or prepared as a packed meal, plus communal or private dining. And there’s an outdoor BBQ.
