Mombasa 1 Day Tour - Scuba Diving Kisite Marine Park

Mombasa 1-Day Tour Scuba Diving Kisite Marine Park is a full day of Scuba diving and a fun dive excursion in Kisite Marine Park Mombasa. Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park & Reserve lies on the south coast about 11 km off the Kenyan Coast (at Shimoni) and 8 km north of the Tanzanian border in Kwale District, Coast Province. Distance from Mombasa: 90 km. Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park covers 11 square km and the Park can only be reached by boat. Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park & Reserve is one of the most rewarding snorkeling locations on the coast. Visitors can also enjoy bird watching, diving, and of course, sunbathing.

Two dives will be done in the morning, giving you a chance to enjoy a sumptuous late lunch. We offer several diving sites in the marine park, one of the best diving sites in East Africa, and a very safe place, free of sharks.

Outer Kisite: Diving at 5 to 12 meters, this is a great spot to watch different species of fish within one reef system. Offers a Shallow, long, and relaxed dive. There is a good chance to see: turtles, morays, lobsters, rays, pipefish, and dolphins.

Dolphin Point: Diving at 3 to 12 meters, this dive site owes its name to the playful dolphins. Many divers are lucky enough to spend their time here.

Inner Kisite: The shallower end of Outer Kisite – a maximum of 5 meters is a great spot for beginners and refresh dives. There is a good chance to spot turtles, crocodile fish, and triggerfish.

Coral Garden/ Pink Reef: Diving at 8 to 15 meters this site is known for the pink variety of soft coral. It also hosts a large variety of tropical fish.

Diving sited next to Wasini Island (Nyuli): Perfect for deep dives, the reef begins at 27 meters. Famous for its larger predatory fish:  groups of Barracuda, Trevally, and blue striped Snapper. Leopard sharks, Napoleon wrasse, Shovel Nose Rays, and huge Groupers. You need to do this dive more than once to see everything.

Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park & Reserve

Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park and National Reserves are found off the Kenyan coast, 75 miles south of Mombasa. This Marine Park and Reserve has been a center of discussion for European marine biologists because of its increasing number of new fish species and corals being documented, and particularly because of the marine environment still being intact.

There are currently around 250 varieties of marine fishes and over 40 varieties of coral species documented. In the Kisite – Mpunguti Marine Park and National Reserves some of the commonly seen fish include large numbers of pelagic fish, butterflies, parrots, rock cod, angels, and manta rays. Turtles, dolphins, and reef sharks are also seen.

The pristine coral varieties are impeccable; corals like staghorn, brain, lilac-blue, mushroom, and lavender present unique photo-taking opportunities. The colorful beauty of the coral, complemented by a large number of yellow and red tuna and snappers is unmatched.
