Mount Gahinga Lodge Mgahinga National Park Uganda is a luxury safari accommodation located in southwest Uganda, near the Kisoro town, on the edge of  Mgahinga Gorilla National park, at the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Mount Gahinga Lodge is the only place to stay when tracking the Mgahinga gorilla. The lodge was the first lodge built by Praveen Moman and opened in 2002. It is the perfect base to go gorilla tracking on the Ugandan side of the Virungas.

It is the perfect base to go gorilla tracking on the Ugandan side of the Virungas, track the rare golden monkey, climb a volcano, walk through local villages, and most of all share the culture of the Batwa, the oldest inhabitants of the Central African rain forest.

Mount Gahinga Lodge is usually accessed via flight or road transfer from Entebbe International Airport. From Entebbe, by air, it’s a 1-hour flight to Kisoro followed by a 1-hour drive to the lodge. From Kigali, it’s a 4-6 hours drive. 

Mount Gahinga Lodge Mgahinga National Park Uganda has 8 bandas (6 standard and 2 deluxe), Each Banda has an ensuite luxury shower room, fireplace, and private porch.  The rooms are complete with en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets, double vanity, and a shower with hot & cold running water.  All rooms have a sun terrace overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes with scenic panoramic views.

There is personal butler service for all guests, a massage spa, a bar, a restaurant, a living area & Wi-Fi available in the main lodge building. Meals are prepared using the freshest local ingredients and served in the dining area.  A mix of local produce, fresh fish, meat, and vegetables.

Other lodge amenities include; Complimentary laundry service, Power sockets/charging facilities, and hair dryers in the rooms. Spend relaxing hours in the comfortable lounge, strolling around the colorful gardens, or reading a good book in the shade of a leafy tree.
