Murchison River Lodge Uganda

Murchison River Lodge is a 3-star lodge located on the southern bank of the River Nile overlooking Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge is accessed by road or air from Kampala or Entebbe. Murchison River Lodge is located 20 kilometers downstream from Murchison Falls.

Murchison River Lodge has 4 thatched cottages, 3 thatched safari tents, 5 camping River Tents, and a campsite.  Thatched Cottages – Our en-suite thatched cottages are open plan with two single beds downstairs and a double bed on a mezzanine floor. The cottages are perfect for families or alternatively a maximum of 4 adults who know each other well.

Thatched Safari Tents – They are en-suite and nestled amongst the trees and bush around the lodge grounds. The tents are twin shared – although a third bed or a baby cot can be added – and have their own porch with a table and chair set.

River Tents – The view from the en-suite twin shared river tents is what sets them apart from the rest – they are located close to the River Nile in a beautiful setting with their own private porch area.

Campsite – For anyone with their own equipment have we got the campsite for you. The well-appointed campsite, with shower/toilet block, is located in an area of natural habitat, with plenty of places to pitch your tent.

The communal buildings are made out of timber, stone, and thatch, blending pleasantly with the natural surroundings. They include an open-plan restaurant and bar that flows out onto a terrace. Gorgeous scenes of the river and the national park may be enjoyed while you tuck into tasty meals and beverages.

The lodge also has a fantastic little shop, Lion’s Den Craft Shop, which stocks an abundance of gifts as well as essential items. And there are two swimming pools, one is for babies and toddlers, the other for everyone else.

Both are positioned close to a pool lounge, which contains a changing room with a shower, toilet, wash facilities, pool towels, and even a small bar.  There is Wi-Fi here too, free of charge. The lodge’s main bar is fully stocked with a selection of wine, beers, and spirits including sodas and juice.

Activities offered by Murchison River Lodge include; Chimpanzee trekking, birding, fishing, a boat trip along the delta, game drives, cultural interaction, nature walks, and visits to Murchison Falls.

* The swimming pool is available to all guests
* Children aged above 12 years pay the relevant full adult rates applicable
* With exception is the Family Cottage package of 2 adults & 4 children up to 16 years of age
* Children aged under 5 years are accommodated free if sharing a room with full-paying adults (maximum 2 kids)
* Do be advised that only the thatched cottages have fans. All other accommodation does not have air conditioning or fans
* Children aged between 5-12 years of age are accommodated at 50% of the relevant adult rate when sharing accommodation with a full-paying adult
