0500 Hours: Our Ngorongoro Crater 1-Day Trip Safari Tanzania departs from Arusha town with a picnic lunch box from your hotel and drives to Ngorongoro Crater. The crater lies 75 miles (120 km) west of the town of Arusha. The driving time is 3 ½ hours. Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the crater’s floor for a half-day crater tour.

0930 Hours: Explore the forest areas that monkeys and elephants inhabit, and the lake area, where you may see the flamingos.

The open Savannah is home to populations of Lion, Leopard, and hyenas along with good herds of wildebeest, buffalo, and zebra. Other game in Ngorongoro includes serval cat, cheetah, jackal, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo, and bat-eared foxes along with approximately 400 species of bird.
