Nilotica Private House is an exclusive use private house within the El Karama Lodge. The house is named after the indigenous tree specie ” Acacia Nilotica’, found in lodge environs. The stunning private house is luxurious, private with big views of this landscape and wildlife at close quarters.

El Karama Lodge is located in the heart of Laikipia on El Karama Ranch, a 14,000-acre cattle ranch with stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife and birds. The lodge is located 42 km from Nanyuki town and 234 km from Nairobi.

The transfer from Nanyuki airport takes about an hour, two-thirds of it on earth roads and the last 20 minutes on the El Karama access road. Air transfers from Nanyuki to El Karama airstrip (charter only), take around 10 minutes. It takes about 4 hours to drive from Nairobi to the lodge.

Nilotica Private House sleeps up to 8 guests over 2 separate cottages. Cottage 1: with 2 large inter-connecting bedrooms sleeping up to 6, with a shared ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet, this large cottage also has a gorgeous outdoor bathtub and bush shower for star gazing.

Cottage 2: With 1 large double bedroom cottage, with enough space to add a child’s cot or small bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet, a  beautiful  veranda, and an outdoor swinging mattress by the river

Communal areas: Large communal patio area for morning tea and relaxation, wooden walkway and raised dining room deck and seating area overlooking the river, outdoor fire pit for evening sundowners, salt lick with wildlife, open fire cooking, and private meal setups.

The house is perfect for families and small groups looking for that extra level of privacy and comfort. With a sprawling wooden dining deck on stilts overlooking the river and landscape beyond, stone patios for yoga, reading, and relaxing, and a private fire pit for cocktails and sundowners.

There is also an active salt lick attracting wildlife including elephants, Zebra, Bush Buck, and Buffalo daily. Guests can also access the lodge’s eco-friendly swimming pool.
