Nimali Camp Tarangire Tanzania

Nimali Camp Tarangire Tanzania is a luxury camp situated on a private concession on the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park. The camp is set alongside a riverbed and well hidden amongst the acacia & baobab trees, overlooking a waterhole that attracts a wealth of wildlife. 

Located only 2.5 hours from the city of Arusha, and adjacent to the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park, Nimali Camp is the perfect starting or ending point for the northern safari circuit.

The Tarangire national park is a hidden gem on the northern safari circuit. The park is renowned for its stunning baobab trees and large herds of elephants. The park also provides excellent habitat for lions, leopards, buffalo, and many antelope species unique to East Africa. These include the lesser kudu, fringe-eared oryx, gerenuk, and Grant’s gazelle.

The nearest international airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport(3½ hours’ drive). The camp is a 2.5 hours drive from Arusha airport. Guests can fly to Manyara or Kuro airstrip with a private charter or scheduled flight from Arusha airport. They can also private charter to the WMA Randelien airstrip which is only 15 minutes game drive away. 

Nimali Camp Tarangire Tanzania has 6 luxury tented suites well laid out and each has a private deck overlooking the river bed. Two of the tents cater to families traveling together. They each have two bedrooms that are both ensuite and connected by a lounge with a private plunge pool. Only the family suites have private plunge pools.

The tented suites are a mix of contemporary and earthy furnishings, complete with fixed bathroom walls & wooden doors. Every effort is made to ensure that our guests feel at home and have an amazingly unique Tanzanian safari experience.

Natural materials have been merged with contemporary decor, to provide guests with an unforgettable stay. The main areas comprise a spacious, open-fronted lounge and library with a selection of safari books. The dining area opens up to a traditional boma and swimming pool that overlooks the waterhole. The waterhole attracts an abundance of wildlife.

Tarangire provides excellent habitats for lions, leopards, buffalo, and many antelope species unique to East Africa. These include lesser kudu, fringe-eared oryx, and Grant’s gazelle. Herds of up to 300 elephants dig for water in the dry riverbeds for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland crowd the plains.

Activities offered at Nimali camp in Tarangire include; day and night game drives, fly and bush camping, walking safaris, community visits to local schools, or Maasai cultural visits. Bush lunches and dinners or champagne breakfasts are also available, balloon safaris provide a unique perspective of the land and wildlife.

* For game packages with children below 6 years – the vehicle has to be booked exclusively
* Children below the age of 12 years are restricted from participating in walking safaris & fly and bush camping
