Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge Uganda

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge Uganda is an eco-friendly lodge located on the Nteko Ridge overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The lodge is located 23 km from the Rushaga Sector briefing point, and a 45-minute drive from the Lodge.

By Road –  Nkuringo is approximately 550km (8-9 hours) from Kampala and 35km (1½ hours) from Kisoro.  By Air – Daily scheduled flights from Entebbe Airport to Kisoro Airstrip takes about one and a half hour and two and a half hour from Kisoro to Entebbe. Closest International Airports: Entebbe (Uganda) and Kigali (Rwanda).

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge Uganda offers 12 rooms in 9 residences with full amenities divided into three two-bedroom family villas and six garden cottages. Each cottage features a bedroom, ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower living area with a fireplace, and comfortable chairs to enjoy the golden fire glow.

Each cottage of approx. 50 sqm is individually designed, can become a triple, has a spacious wooden veranda, and enjoys views of either the Virungas or Bwindi forest. The Forest Suites command great views of Bwindi forest comes with both shower and bathtub and have a lounge area and a spacious wooden veranda. A private Butler services the suite.

The Villas, or 2-in-1 cottages, command great views of Bwindi forest and can be used for a family (with interconnecting door) or as two separate private cottages – each room can host up to 3 people. The Family Villa differs from the other 2 villas only in the layout since both its rooms share the same veranda.

Room Facilities for all types of accommodation include; an ensuite bathroom, private veranda, safe box, complimentary drinking water, shampoo and hair conditioner, hairdryer (available in the rooms), hot water bottle in bed in the evening, fire-place, daily housekeeping service, extra bed and baby cots, tea and coffee brought to your room.

Lodge amenities include; a cozy new restaurant serving home-made meals and freshly baked bread, a bar, a coffee shop with an amazing view of the Virungas, outdoor and indoor lounges, free tea and coffee at the restaurant, in-house craft shop, a massage parlor, complimentary Wi-Fi in the main area & 24-hour security.

The lodge has two lounge and dining spaces, Mylica Bar and Rafiki Lounge, with stunning views of our surroundings, the Virunga Volcanoes, and the Bwindi Forest – both serving homemade meals and freshly-baked bread and warmly furnished with fireplaces. The Upstairs lounge also has a fireplace, an in-house craft shop, and the best views of the Virungas.

Activities at Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge include; Gorilla Tracking, Community Walks, Nature Walks, encounters with the Batwa people, Birding in Bwindi Forest, Hiking in Bwindi National Park, Mist Spa Treatments, etc.
