Nyumbu Camp Masai Mara

Nyumbu Camp Masai Mara is a low-cost budget camp located in the Ngila plains at the edge of Masai Mara Game Reserve overlooking magnificent views of hills and plains in a prime wildlife area (near Talek Gate).

Game viewing starts right from the camp itself and the location is ideal to experience the wildebeest migration. The camp caters to Photographers, Educational tours, Birders, and Active Adventure lovers.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes.

Nyumbu Camp Masai Mara has 13 canvas tents that can accommodate up to 32 guests. Each fully equipped insect-proof custom-designed tent features bedside tables, rugs, tea/ coffee making facilities, a furnished veranda, and an en-suite bathroom with hot showers and flush toilets.

Nyumbu Camp Masai Mara Game Reserve serves both local and international cuisine and guests enjoy their meals in al-fresco or in the open-sided dining/ lounge tent.

There is a fully equipped library where guests can relax as they learn about the vast Mara Ecosystem. There is no main power in the camp; however, there is a 24 – hour’s power supply in the tents through an integrated solar system.

Guests can sit around the campfire in the evening as they keep warm and unwind on the day’s event. We accommodate children but adults must be aware that our camp is not fenced and no additional facilities are available to occupy them outside our normal excursions. No baby equipment is provided.

Nyumbu Camp Masai Mara activities include; game viewing drives in safari-equipped vehicles, bush picnics, sundowners, & bush breakfast, nature Trail walks, and day-long hikes revealing stunning views; under the guidance of trained Masai guides.

Others include Cultural visits to local Masai Manyatta, hot-Air Balloon Safari, flight to Rusinga Island, Lake Victoria, for fishing and bird watching, and campfire evenings.
