Oldarpoi Mara Camp

Oldarpoi Mara Camp is a budget safari accommodation located along the Sekenani-Keekorok Road in Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The camp is situated in Sekenani about 3 km (10 minutes’ drive) to Sekenani Gate, the entrance of Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes. Carefully stashed under the sun-bathed, whistling trees are tents that are spacious, comfortable, diverse, and welcoming.

Oldarpoi Mara Camp has two types of accommodation; Mid-range Luxury Tents and Cottages & VIP Treatment at Oldarpoi Wageni Camp.  Mid-range Luxury Tents and Cottages are spacious, clean, and have hotel-standard beddings and a private bathroom en-suite with hot showers and clean water closets.

The tents are set up in such a way that gives Oldarpoi the appearance of a village with the garden at the center while the cottages have large beds, Mazara-stone floors, and grass-thatched roofing that gives them the traditional ambiance. They are ideal for couples and families.

VIP Treatment at Oldarpoi Wageni Camp – This is the new baby in our unfolding safari products. Set on the foot of the Siana Hill, the camp offers families, newly-weds, and other guests unmitigated comfort and luxury. The king-sized beds, wood-paneled en-suite bathrooms.

Sitting outside any of the concrete-elevated tents gives you a panoramic view of the vast expanse of the Mara all the way to the Siria Escarpment. You will enjoy the sights and sounds of Africa at a glance while still surrounded by nature in its splendor.

Apart from the completely solar-powered camp, it grows vegetables in its own organic garden. After dinner guests have activities by the campfire such as storytelling and singing.

Oldarpoi Mara Camp is affiliated with the I See Maasai Development Initiative (ISMDI). ISMDI invests the profits from Oldarpoi’s sustainable tourism camp into development projects in the local community.

Oldarpoi Mara Camp activities include; hot air balloon safaris, guided walking tours in nearby the Nashulai conservancy with rangers, Maasai village visits, game drives, bush breakfasts, bush lunches, and bush dinners.
