Olimba Camp Masai Mara

Olimba Camp Maasai Mara is a small and cozy eco-bush camp adjacent to Talek River, in the heart of the most exciting wilderness in Africa, bordering Mara Naboisho Conservancy and the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve.  The camp is situated along the Talek River, next to a historic saltlick and 10 minutes from the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the park is accessible through the Mara Simba Rangers barrier or Sekenani main gate.

Olimba offers guests a chance to observe a myriad of wildlife while enjoying lunch or dinner under a big fig tree at the river bank. Giraffes, elephants, impalas, warthogs, and hippos are frequent visitors to the area. By air: A scheduled one-hour flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Mara Keekorok airstrip. Flights depart at 07h30 10h30, and 14h00 with our air partner Air- Kenya.

The camp is a 35-minute game drive from the airstrip. By road: 51⁄2 hours drive from Nairobi. The camp is a 15-minute drive away from Mara Simba gate. By road, the camp is accessible from Sekenani within 20 minutes and from Talek within 30 minutes.
Our six guest tents at Olimba Mara Camp accommodate up to three adults per tent, with the option of a super king-size bed, twin beds, or single beds.

Olimba Camp has 6 double tents, each accommodating two guests, for a total of twelve guests. Three of the six tents can be adapted into triple rooms, for a total of fifteen guests. The camp is open all year round, and the ideal length of stay is three to six nights.

The camp is a comfortable, intimate bush camp, completely unfenced and adjacent to a Salt Lick and Talex river. It is spacious and fully insect-proof, equipped with cedar beds, linen, bedside tables, luggage racks, and rugs. The bathrooms are en-suite and equipped with towels, soap and shampoo, a shower, a flushing toilet, and running water. There are canvas chairs and a table on the verandah. Triple tents and family quad tents (1 double and 2 single beds) are available on request.

Lounge Tent – The lounge and dining tent, with its comfortable furnishings and informative collection of reference books, is a delightful place to relax between game drives or other activities. The main tent is equipped with a permanent Wi-fi connection. In addition, there is an open-air breakfast and lunch area set up by the river under our majestic old fig tree.

Meals and Drinks – All meals and water are included in your stay. The cuisine is Western/European with regular African dishes and hygiene standards are high. The camp can easily cater to special dietary requirements and ask you to notify them in advance. Mineral water is provided in each tent every day.

Power & Lighting – The camp fully runs on solar power, providing permanent power and hot water to all tents. Cameras and other electric devices can also be charged on this system, there are several sockets in the lounge tent and in
the guest tents. The camp has no backup generator.
