Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara

Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara is a traditionally styled tented camp situated along the Ntiakatiak River within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, which borders Masai Mara Game Reserve. Olare Motorogi Conservancy is a pristine and exclusive 33000-acre wilderness set aside for wildlife conservation and low-impact tourism.

Olare Motorogi Conservancy is a community-integrated conservancy, renowned for its pristine environment and big cats. It is one of the newer concessions and has changed the way most members of the local Maasai community view tourists

The Camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes. The camp is 25 minutes game drive from Ol Kiombo Airstrip.

Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara has 9 tents and 1 family unit – which ensures guests have a genuine “away from it all” experience deep in the African bush. All the tents are exclusive, and spacious, and have private verandahs where guests can relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness.

Each tent has bedside tables, a work desk, a chair, and an en-suite bathroom with wood vanity with a pottery vessel sink, a large mirror, a shower enclosed by canvas, and flush toilet.

The family unit at Porini Lion Camp is an I-shaped tent located 20 meters from the main areas. The unit is made of high-quality canvas, and is spacious, measuring 144 square meters. It consists of two rooms with a lounge in between. The unit is ideal for families or groups of friends traveling together and is at the same price per person as our other tents.

Guests have the option of either dining in the dining tent or in outdoors. Meals are excellent with home-baked bread, fresh salads, and high-quality meals prepared by the camp’s chef.

In the evening guests can enjoy a drink with hors d’oeuvres on the verandah or around the campfire. Guests can also relax in the lounge and in the bar as they enjoy a wide range of alcohol and soft drinks.

Porini Lion Camp Masai Mara activities include; day and night game drives, bush breakfasts, sundowners, guided safari walks, bird watching, hot air balloon safaris, and Maasai village visits.

* The camp is not suitable for children under 8 years of age
* 4th child in a tent is strongly discouraged due to limited space in the tent and shower/toilet facilities
* Christmas & New Year supplement 24/25/26/31 December & 01 January – 50 US Dollars per person per night
* 2 children in own tent pay 75% of per person sharing rates each, 3rd child in the same tent pays 75% of per person sharing rate
* Child 8 – 16 years 1 child pays 60% of per person sharing rates when sharing with 1 adult but the 1 adult pays the full single tent rate 
* 1 child pays 60% of per person sharing rates when sharing with 2 adults in 1 tent & the 2 adults pay per person sharing rates each
* Porini Lion includes game drives in Olare Orok Conservancy and one full day with picnic lunch in Masai Mara Game Reserve for 3 night stays
* The camp has 1 family unit comprising of 2 ensuite tents with an interconnecting lounge. The family unit is sold as 2 individual tents therefore children taking up one of the tents are charged 75% of the per-person sharing rates
