Porini Safari Cottages are located in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, an 18,700-acre wildlife sanctuary in the Masai Mara region of Kenya. The nearest airport to the cottages is Ol Seki Airstrip, which is about 25 minutes drive away. The cottages are exclusive and private, offering comfort and warm service from the Ol Kinyei Maasai staff. The cottages offer a unique “home away from home” experience and have en-suite bathrooms, solar-powered lighting, and spacious verandas.

The 4 four-bedroom safari high-end safari cottages are on a hillside location with spectacular views over the open plains below. There is a large wildlife dam down from the cottages which is a big draw for wildlife including lions and elephants. The cottages are designed to maximize these views whilst minimizing the visual impact from the plains. Each Cottage has four spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms en-suite. A common lounge with a fireplace for the cold evenings and a media room for kids to have a place to unwind, remote work, reviewing and editing the day’s photographers and so much more.

Located within the Serengeti-Mara eco-system, Ol Kinyei Conservancy is renowned for its unspoilt and breathtaking scenery with diverse terrain offering on one hand open savannah plains and rolling hills on the other. The land, with its abundance of water sources in the form of springs, streams, and rivers, coupled with spectacular views across the Mara plains, is home to a wide variety of animal species. There is a resident lion pride and other individual lions are also present while several leopards have their territories within the conservancy and are often sighted by guests from Porini Safari Cottages on evening or early morning drives. Cheetahs are frequently seen and it is not rare to come across large numbers of giraffes as well as Cape buffalo and elephants.

Ol Kinyei Conservancy is a great location from which to observe the Serengeti Wildebeest Migration (generally in the Mara from June to October), and there is another Wildebeest Migration that comes in from Kenya’s Loita Plains, moving into Ol Kinyei Conservancy earlier, usually by January. The annual wildebeest calving takes place in Ol Kinyei Conservancy during February and March when the plains of the conservancy are teeming with wildebeest before they move on through Naboisho Conservancy and into Olare Motorogi and the Mara Reserve.
