How to Get There

By Road: From Nairobi, approximately 5–6 hours’ drive (about 320 km) via the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.​ From Mombasa: Approximately 2.5–3 hours’ drive (about 170 km).​

By Rail: Travelers can take the Madaraka Express (SGR) train from Nairobi or Mombasa to Voi Station. Transfers from the station to the lodge can be arranged upon request.​

By Air: Charter flights can land at the nearby Tsavo East Airstrip, approximately 2 kilometers from the lodge. Prior arrangements are necessary for transfers from the airstrip to the lodge.​

The lodge is built to have a traditional African feel and not a modern-day look, but still has all the comforts and luxury expected by a modern traveler.

The Red Elephant Lodge has 13 double, and 2 triple rooms and 4 private double bush houses all fully furnished bathrooms with hot water showers, toilets,s and beds fitted with large mosquito nets.

The bush house has enough space and is tastefully furnished and lovely decorated in safari style. Ceiling fans are also fitted in the bush houses.

The onsite restaurant serves a wide range of local and international meals, made from locally sourced ingredients. The dining room has a seating capacity of 60. Guests can dine in the dining area or in outdoors. The well-stocked bar serves a variety of international brands and classic cocktails after a dry and hot day in the bush.

There is a small round pool with a sun deck fitted with sun beds and chairs. In the evenings and nights, a campfire will be lit and guests will enjoy traditional dancers performing the music of different Kenyan tribes.
