Richard's River Camp - Maasai Mara National Reserve
Richards River Camp Masai Mara is a luxury safari accommodation situated on the banks of the Njageteck River in the private Mara North Conservancy bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp sits on the border of the Mara North Conservancy and the Olare Orok Conservancy.
Richards River Camp overlooks the Ngoyanai springs which provide permanent water and draw large numbers of animals to the area around the camp. This camp is also particularly known for its resident lion pride which can often be seen hunting right in front of the camp and almost always can be heard roaring during the night.

Richards River Camp Masai Mara has 6 tents and 1 large suite, all raised on concrete platforms with low wooden steps. Each tent is tastefully fitted with either a double bed or twin bed, a dressing room, soft rugs on the floor, and a seating area complete with a footstool. The bathroom is en-suite with a vanity counter, hot showers, flush toilets, and stone floors with bamboo-like trunks for the walls.
The camp is designed with privacy, exclusivity as well as adventure in mind we ensure a warm and memorable safari, with only seven tents, this camp is ideal for individuals as well as exclusive groups who wish to experience the Masai Mara in a personal intimate setting.
Each canvas tent is a customized design that allows for significant size, airflow, and light. Raised on concrete platforms with low wooden steps, the tent walls are high with netted windows and a pitch, therefore creating fantastic airflow and good ventilation throughout.
The camps kitchen serves traditional African meals as well as international meals. If weather permits dining is usually outdoors with a beautiful candle-lit table. There are also bush dinners under a canopy of stars.
Richards River Camp Masai Mara has an airy common area with classic, elegant themed furnishings; plush sofas, and revel in the comfort of the woven rugs under the guest’s feet. Guests choose to pick out a book from the mini-library to better fathom the fauna they see.
Guests can relax and have warm conversations by the campfire or in the bar area where there is a large range of soft drinks, beers, house wines, and selected house spirits drinks.
Richards River Camp Masai Mara activities include; day and night game drives, birding and scenic bush walks, sundowners, bush meals, cultural visits to a local Masai Village nearby & hot air balloon flights.
