River Edge Lodge Masai Mara National Reserve

River Edge Lodge Masai Mara National Reserve is located on the lush banks of the Talek River, some 3 km from the Talek Gate and 2 km from the Mpuai Barrier. This allows guests alternative access to the Masai Mara Game Reserve for better game viewing. The nearest Airstrip is Olkiombo, which is a 30-minute safari transfer from the lodge.  Alternative Airstrip is Keekorok approximately a 1 hour transfer.

By road – Access the reserve at the Sekanani gate, drive through, exit at the Talek gate & proceed to the lodge. The River Edge lodge consists of 3 stand-alone rooms and a 2 bedroom family unit all facing the Talek River. The lodge accommodates up to 10 guests in spacious open rooms with queen size beds, with all-round full-length glass doors. Natural stone floors and tent roofs with shade netting keep the rooms cool in the afternoons.

There is a glass-walled dining and lounge area with an indoor fireplace. All rooms & lounge areas have unobstructed views of a Hippo and crocodile pool on the Talek River. The side doors open up for an indoor-outdoor feel.

​Meals are set up for 10 guests in the dining area or on the edge of the river under the tree canopy. The lodge has a cozy lounge area complete with an indoor fireplace where guests can enjoy board games or relax with a book.

Accommodation costs include all 3 meals and 4 O’clock tea. Purified drinking water is also provided at the table. Bottled water, soft juices & alcoholic drinks are available at an extra cost. Square 3-pin power sockets with USB charging points are available in the rooms.

Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and we provide a pair of binoculars in each guest room for use while on game drives.

Check IN – 1200 hours

For late departures, guests would need to check out of the rooms & would be hosted in the main areas. This may not be possible in the busy season and would be subject to availability:

NB: Mara Game Reserve entrance fees are now valid for 12 hours and guests departing on scheduled flights would need to be at the airstrip by 11:00 Hours or pay additional reserve fees.
