Samburu Dik-Dik Lodge

Samburu Dik-Dik Lodge is located alongside the Ewaso Nyero River, facing Shaba National Reserve, just 2 km outside Archers Post (a settlement in Kenya’s Samburu County, which is home to the Samburu people), where the entrance of Samburu National Reserve is situated.  Buffalo Spring and Shaba National Reserve entrances are just a few kilometers away. The lodge is located 5.5 hours from Nairobi and about 2 hours from Nanyuki. Dik-dik House features 3 comfortable guestrooms,1 comfortable self-catering cottage, and a budget campsite.

The lodge is located alongside the Ewaso Nyero River, facing Shaba National Reserve, just 2km outside Archers Post, where the entrance of Samburu National Reserve is. Buffalo Spring and Shaba National Reserve entrances are just a few kilometers away. It is a pleasant and spectacular 2 hours drive from Nanyuki (120 km), Nairobi is approximately 310 km (5:30 hours).

The lodge is also surrounded by remarkable conservancies such as Sera, Kalama, Westgate, and Namunyak. Samburu Dik-Dik Lodge is a perfect setting for individual stays and small group activities such as photography seminars, conservation activities, or even meditation retreats; your imagination is the limit!

Samburu Dik-Dik offers a mostly undisturbed natural environment, home to dik-diks, hedgehogs, tortoises, geckos, and many birds. It is also visited by vervet monkeys, mongoose, rock hyrax, jackals, and many others; elephants are also regular passersby.

Samburu Dik-Dik Lodge consist of 2 accommodation facilities; The Dik-Dik House ( Bed & Breakfast) and   Susuk Self-Catering Cottage.

The Dik-Dik House features 3 comfortable guestrooms with large windows, queen-size beds, ceiling fans, free Wi-Fi, wardrobes and private or semi-private spacious bathrooms with hot and cool showers. You have direct access to the shaded veranda where you can relax near the pool, and to the upper terrace for a stunning view of the surroundings.

The large and welcoming kitchen is where the chef can prepare your meals and where you are welcome to sit for a snack, drink and discussion. Your stay includes access to the pool, which faces Shaba National Reserve.

Susuk House is an independent non-frill yet very comfortable cottage surrounded by greenery and a variety of birds. It has 2 bedrooms (each one with a large bed and ample storage area), a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi, a large screened-in living space where you can enjoy bug-free evenings and a covered veranda (can also be used to park your car).

Simply bring your own food and cook the way you like! Or, upon reservation, the house chef can also be hired to cook your meals (with the food you bring). Access to the pool is also available!
