Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp Tanzania is an exclusive, small, and intimate mobile camp. Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp is a moveable camp based on the natural migration path. The camp is set in three locations and invites guests to follow wildebeest and zebra as they travel across the Serengeti plains during the annual migration cycle.
Lamai Airstrip is the closest airstrip to Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp, approximately a 1 hour 30 minutes drive. Arusha to Lamai airstrip is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away. Access by road is also possible and the camp is approximately three hours from the Ngorongoro Crater and seven hours from Arusha.
Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp Tanzania comes with 10 five-star tents, each with a wooden deck perfect for sitting with a cup of Tanzania’s finest coffee and an en suite bathroom with a bucket shower. A personal tent attendant is available to fill each bucket shower to the perfect temperature whenever needed.
The word Kichakani is a Swahili word meaning ‘in the bush’ — This basically means staying in remarkable luxury tents which can be packed up and moved along in a style evocative of the pioneering explorers of the 19th century yet with all the modern comforts.
Handcrafted luggage, easy chairs with an air of mid-century modern, and characterful cabinets and desks have all been designed to be perfectly portable.
Gym and yoga kits are also provided for working out. Savor international flavors. Evenings can be spent gathered by the traditional fire pit and under starry skies, maybe hearing from experienced guides or swapping stories.
The camp also features a grand central canopied area where the main tent flows into lounges and dining wings. Promising awe-inspiring panoramas, the tents can be open on the sides to reveal the soul-stirring landscape.
Savor international flavors alongside kachumbari (traditional Tanzanian salsa), coconut beans, paprika, cinnamon, chili from nearby Zanzibar, conjured up by the Chef and his team. Evenings can be spent gathered by the traditional fire pit and exchanging stories under starry skies and listening to tales of wildlife encounters and historical derring-do from the passionate guides.
Sundowners are a must on any safari, with all drinks, cocktails, and snacks provided at the end of the day. Enjoy a refreshing drink or a signature cocktail as you celebrate the end of the day; all while being surrounded by thousands of wildebeest and zebras.
Activities available include; Game drives & Sundowners. The camp offers sundowners with canopies and house drinks to the guests in memorable locations. The Serengeti is known for having the Big Five; cheetahs are a highlight, along with the wild dogs, giraffe, waterbuck, and impala.
