Segera Nay Palad Bird Nest Suite Laikipia

Segera Nay Palad Bird Nest is a luxury Suite situated within Segera Retreat, an eco-safari luxury retreat located on the grasslands of the Laikipia Plateau. The game ranch is 50,000 acres located just to the north of the Equator on an important migratory corridor within the Ewaso ecosystem.

Scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson airport to Nanyuki Airstrip take 35 minutes, followed by a road transfer to Segera in a closed vehicle that takes 2 hours. Charter flights to Segera airstrip take only 45 minutes from Nairobi Wilson Airport and a few minutes transfer.

Segera Nay Palad Bird Nest is a luxury Suite located within Segera Retreat. The suite is only available to guests who are residents/ staying at Segera retreat for three nights or more. It’s only recommended for a one-night stay. 

NAY PALAD Bird Nest suite is built alongside a river teeming with wildlife, the offers a breathtaking escape in which one’s dreams seamlessly intermingle with nature as never before.

The NAY PALAD Bird Nest was inspired by the beauty of nature, a new concept of nesting and sleeping like a bird – above the ground, with 360-degree sceneries and a bird’s eye view over this beautiful wilderness. The entire nest structure is built and designed for raw materials such as farmed wood and actual tree branches that have been woven into a nest by local community members.

After enjoying a regular game drive or bush walk at Segera ranch, guests are brought to the NAY PALAD Bird Nest just before sunset. The nest is lit up with lanterns, with “Sundowners” of champagne and culinary delights laid out on the top deck and inviting beds (on the top deck and within the shelter of the first floor) prepared with luxurious linens and comforting hot water bottles, ready for the night ahead.

Adventurous guests will enjoy the magical African sunset, feast on a picnic-style dinner on the top deck, and fall asleep under the sparkling African sky… The following morning, guests will find a picnic breakfast delivered to their doorstep, to be enjoyed while watching elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife at the river.

To wake up to the magical sounds of wild animals at play, surrounded by pristine nature as far as the eye can see – this is a place of true, untouched wonderment. Guests’ personal villa attendant will have brought their nightwear and toiletries to the NAY PALAD Bird Nest, which includes a fully-equipped bathroom, with running water (solar heated) and a flushing toilet.

In this wild and intimate Kenyan sanctuary, guests continue to experience Segera’s sheer luxury and bespoke service, surrounded by the purity of wildlife and the warmth of the African sun.

The NAY PALAD Bird Nest is designed to sleep two guests, but a cozy family would also be welcome – for example, the parents may choose to sleep in the shelter on the first floor, but the children would love the adventure of sleeping out on the top deck.

As guests’ accommodation at Segera Retreat will be kept exclusively for them while they visit the NAY PALAD Bird Nest, there is an additional fee for this extraordinary safari experience.

The Segera NAY PALAD Bird Nest is situated 3 km away from the main Retreat, an approximate drive of 15  minutes and is built alongside a river teeming with wildlife and offers a unique concept of nesting and sleeping like a bird – set above the ground, with a 360-degree birds-eye-view of this beautiful wilderness. The nest is designed to sleep two guests, but a family with two children can also be accommodated.
