Sentrim Camp Tsavo East National Park

Sentrim Camp Tsavo East National Park is a tented safari accommodation in Tsavo East National Park, 345 km from Nairobi and 11 km from Voi Gate.  The camp is 40 km from the Buchuma Gate and approximately 2 2-hour drive from Mombasa. Malindi is 167 km from the camp. The camp has the atmosphere of the pioneer camps of long ago while providing the luxurious experience of a permanent camp with modern amenities.

Tsavo East National Park is located in the Coast Province, a two hour drive from the seaside city of Mombasa and a five hour drive from Nairobi. The nearest gate to Sentrim Tsavo East Camp is the Voi gate, a 40 minute ride through the park, with the Galana River nearby, adding texture to this fascinating national park.

Sentrim Tsavo Lodge has 25 tented rooms made up of 20 standard tented and 5 deluxe rooms, all on elevated platforms. The tented rooms consist of authentic safari canvas tents reminiscent of a bygone era, while the stone-walled rooms are made of concrete structures but bearing a semblance of the surrounding environment.

Sentrim Tsavo Lodge Safari Experiences

Tsavo East National Park is an exciting safari destination for game viewing. With its vast and diverse landscape, the park offers a unique opportunity to explore African wildlife in its natural habitat. The park hosts all the members of the African Big 5 (Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, and Buffaloes).

The park is a home of both Black and White Rhino species, making it one of the few protected areas across the country with both species of Rhinos. This beautifully endowed game park is accessible at any time of the year, for it can be accessed by both Air and road transportation.

The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling, and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometers long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East.

Sentrim Tsavo Lodge Game Viewing

Tsavo East National Park offers great wildlife viewing in pristine wilderness. Four of the Big Five are here (no rhino). Elephants are common, and their red dust coating makes them stand out against the arid environment. Of the big cats, lions are most easily spotted, but cheetahs are also possible out on the plains. Buffalo, zebra, and plenty of Masai giraffes are some of the other animals you can expect to see.

Mudanda Rock

The 1.6 KM Mudanda rock, meaning the place of dried meat, is located in the southwestern shrub of Tsavo East National Park. The rock is said to have been used for drying strips of meat and as a lookout by the local tribes. Today it serves as one of the viewing spots in the park where visitors can have a walking safari, with its top giving 3600 views in the park.

Lugard Falls

Another unmistakable marvel while with us at Tsavo! The Lugard falls is a series of white water rapids and is formed in the Galana River as a result of rocks that blocked the flow of water from Galana Rriver many million years ago, thus forming rapids that resulted into the water falls.

Crocodile ViewPoint

A habitat of giant crocodiles and hippopotamus known as the crocodile point is found not more than a kilometre below the falls. You can visit the falls from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm every day from Monday to Sunday.
