Siruai Mobile Camp is a luxury canvas tented camp situated in the privately owned 43,000-acre Suyian ranch in central Kenya. This luxury safari camp is perched on a rocky ridgeline, overlooking the Ewaso Narok River valley and the Laikipia Plateau, with views of Mount Kenya and the incredible scenery of northwest Laikipia. Arrive by charter flight into Siruai’s private airstrip, which is just over an hour’s flight from Nairobi, and enjoy a leisurely 20 minutes game drive to camp or arrive by scheduled flight into the neighboring Loisaba Conservancy which is approximately 45 minutes by road from the camp. Alternatively, the journey to Siruai Mobile Camp takes 5 hours by road from the capital city of Nairobi and approximately 2.5 hours from Solio Lodge.
Siruai Mobile Camp accommodation includes 7 canvas tents hidden amongst big granite boulders and fig trees, with spectacular views from their private verandas. Inviting beds, en-suite flushing lavatories, and bucket showers, allow guests to relax in comfort, whilst feeling close to nature.
With cozy beds, en-suite flushing lavatories, and traditional safari bucket showers, guests can relax in the height of comfort, whilst still feeling close to nature. At night, sit around an open campfire under some of the starriest skies you’ll see. There are charging facilities available in the camp, but there is no wifi and phone connectivity is limited. The camp encourages you to enjoy the freedom of being disconnected.
At Siruai mobile camp, the days are warm and sunny, with cooler evenings. There is a safari vehicle for game viewing and your private guide will personally host you throughout your stay. Siruai offers the unique freedom to explore the incredible northwest Laikipia on your own terms. Hike the boulder-strewn ridgelines and river valleys or go by vehicle to enjoy a bush breakfast overlooking a hippo pool on the river, where one can cast for fish.
Visit the wild-swimming pool, and scramble up giant boulders to leap into the waterfall pool below. Beneath the waterfall, Kayak, and tube in the river, or search out old bush caves. When night falls, perhaps one of the most charming elements of the camp is the smell of dinner cooked on the open fire, and the tales of the day shared around the campfire, immersed in the wilderness.
Additional activities include safaris on foot, or in a vehicle, at your own pace, and with no one else around. Game viewing opportunities are around every corner in this outdoor adventurer’s paradise.
Wildlife while on game drives include rare species such as the Grevy’s zebra and African wild dog, lion, leopard, hippo, ostrich, reticulated giraffe, and elephant, all provide lots of game viewing opportunities.
