Solio Wildlife Sanctuary Flying Safari 2 Days 1 Night is ideal to explore the Big Five in the authentic African bush on a limited time schedule. Enjoy some of Kenya’s finest wildlife spots, game drives, meals and stylish accommodations while on our Solio ranch fly-in safari.
Solio Wildlife Sanctuary is located on a private wildlife sanctuary, tucked in the valley between the lofty slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, directly north of Nairobi.
The Solio Reserve is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya and visitors will find that sightings of up to 40 rhinoceros at a time are not uncommon.
The wildlife experience here is intense and exclusive with 19,000 acres of conservancy surrounded by 45,000 acres of ranch and just one lodge, Solio Lodge, in the middle of it.
Solio Lodge offers a wide range of activities including game drives, horse riding, a visit to a Kenya coffee plantation and bird watching. You can also take a helicopter to nearby Mount Kenya and for a hilltop picnic breakfast or go trout fishing in the Aberdare National Park.
Back at the Lodge, you can relax with the help of massage therapists who are available for in-room treatments.
Solio Lodge has five contemporary luxurious cottages with private decks and panoramic views of the nearby hills and Mount Kenya in the distance. Each room has a private lounge area with an open fire for cooler evenings, as well as large en-suite bathrooms with a double sink, bath and shower.

Our Solio Wildlife Sanctuary Flying Safari 2 Days 1 Night begins with an African Spice representative briefing followed by a transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Nanyuki Airstrip.
0830 Hours: The flight departs from Nairobi and takes about 35 minutes.
0905 Hours: The flight arrives in Nanyuki. (NB. This is a daily flight that operates into multiple airstrips and timings may vary depending on the aircraft routing).
You will be met at the airstrip by a vehicle from Solio camp where you are staying and you will go on game drives in the camp’s 4×4 safari vehicle with a qualified and experienced driver-guide who knows the area far better than any visiting drivers and is familiar with the latest wildlife movements.
The transfer takes about 20 minutes to Solio Ranch Conservancy gate and then a further 45 minutes to Solio lodge. There are great chances of encountering numerous black and white rhinos, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, oryx, antelope, Thompson’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck, and warthog.
1300 Hours: Lunch is served at the lodge. After lunch relaxes at the lodge.
1530 Hours: Depart for an afternoon game drive. Solio Ranch also offers some of the best leopard viewings in the country, and lions and cheetahs can also be found. Other animals include Elephants, Giraffes, Zebra, Black rhinos, Lions, leopards, Cheetah, and hyenas.

Day 2: Solio Ranch – Fly to Nairobi
0600 Hours: Depart for an early morning game drive or you may choose one of the many activities Solio Lodge offers. You may decide to go on horse riding, take a visit to a Kenya coffee plantation, or enjoy bird watching.
You can also take a helicopter to nearby Mount Kenya for a hilltop picnic breakfast. Back at the Lodge, you can relax with the help of massage therapists who are available for in-room treatments.
Depending on what you choose to do breakfast is served anytime between 0600 to 1000 hours. Later we transfer you to Nanyuki airstrip for your flight to Nairobi.
1200 Hours: Depart Nanyuki by air to Nairobi.
1240 Hours: Arrive in Nairobi Wilson. Transfer you to your hotel/ residence.
