Located in the heart of Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary, Soroi Leopard Lair Cottages sit atop the Lions Bluff Kopje, offering uninterrupted views across 48,000 acres of pristine wilderness. The lodge is strategically positioned between Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks, making it ideal for exploring Kenya’s iconic southern safari circuit.

By Road:

Leopard Lair Cottages are equipped with a double and single bed – complete with bedding, hot and cold showers, and a lovely terrace overlooking the stunning Conservancy with endless views of the Savannah and mountains in the distance.

A large, common dining area & a fully functional kitchen, and a public toilet are also available. Most of our guests enjoy our delicious meals. Most of the guests enjoy the delightful full-board
accommodation though. The chef takes great pride in his home-cooked pasta, marinated steak, and chicken lasagna, as well as in offering vegan and vegetarian options.

Spacious verandas overlook a vast area of the Tsavo ecosystem from the Taita Hills, extending past Mt. Kilimanjaro to Mukamazi in Tanzania.

All meals are prepared in Leopard Lairs’ kitchen, reflecting Kenya’s great variety of fruits, vegetables, and meat. Guests can also spend the evenings watching spectacular sunsets while sipping cool drinks from the well-stocked bar. The central mess area offers all the same amenities as Lions Bluff, but with fewer crowds.

Activities in the Leopard Lair Cottages Tsavo West include bush breakfasts, day game drives, nature trails, bird walks, village visits, night game drives, bush walks, and sundowners. Guests can also participate in Eye Go Game Spotting (EGGS), which helps raise awareness and funds for local community projects.

For those on a game package, the staff is on hand to assist with planning the activities on offer. Walking or hiking the nearby Hills is one of our favorites, but more than anything, Lumo is a “birders’ paradise”! Our guests are thrilled with the variety of local and migratory birds, the rarely spotted Nightjars, and six endemic species found only in Lumo!
