Stanley’s Kopje Camp Mikumi National Park Tanzania

Stanley’s Kopje Camp Mikumi National Park Tanzania is a luxury camp and the only camp in Mikumi National park set up on a rocky kopje on the Mkata flood plain, it presides over the best game viewing area of the park, the Mwanamboga waterhole. Stanley’s Kopje perches high on a rocky kopje, enjoying fine 360 degree views over the surrounding Mikumi wilderness. 

The golden grasslands of north-western Mikumi provide the stage for a wonderful concentration of mammals, birds, and reptiles, while the impenetrable forests and mountains to the south-east border the vast Nyerere National Park.

Mikumi National Park is the closest National Park to Dar es Salaam and is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, the Rubeho mountains, Udzungwa mountains, and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest.

Stanley Kopje Camp is accessible by both road and air.  There are daily scheduled flights from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar to Mikumi airstrip. Chartered flights can also be arranged.

Stanley’s Kopje Camp Mikumi National Park Tanzania has 12 Meru-style tents pitched on high wooden platforms with traditionally built thatched roofs that provide shade from the sun while you sit on your veranda and enjoy the game around the camp. Each tent is themed around the history of an Explorer or Slave Trader. 

Amenities at the camp include; Comfortable, large, double beds, A spacious deck to relax and spectate the wildlife action in front, An en-suite bathroom with solar-heated running water, A lockable safe for valuables, Battery charging facilities & Complimentary laundry service.
