Tarangire Safari Lodge is a luxury lodge located within the national park boundary of Tarangire National Park, 10 km from the main entrance. Perched at the edge of a natural bluff, the lodge is renowned for its panoramic views of the Savannah and Tarangire Rivers below, providing breathtaking scenery and game viewing. 

Game drives within Tarangire National Park are spectacular. The river flows through the park and is a magnet for wildlife, especially large populations of elephants. The park also contains varied and contrasting landscapes and unrivaled birdlife.

There are 40 guestrooms; 35 tents and 5 bungalows. Safari tents – The quintessential safari tents, with thatched roofs and large, mesh-screened windows, provide the perfect opportunity to connect with the sights and sounds of nature. 

Each tent has a comfortable verandah, ideal for bird and game viewing or reading your favorite book after a dusty safari. With a choice of twin or double tents, all are equipped with en-suite bathrooms with solar-heated showers, ample cupboard space for your gear, and a cultural touch of local textiles.

Bungalows – The five circular bungalows, built in a similar style to the Maasai boma, offer a more spacious option for family and triple accommodation.   The bungalows are set away from the main lodge, providing privacy, and all have large en-suite bathrooms with solar-heated showers, and comfortable bedding made from local textiles. 

Dining – The open-air dining room provides a distinctive setting for our international home-style cuisine. Signature buffets offer fresh fruits and vegetables, and a wide variety of flavorful dishes sure to satisfy every palate. Enjoy dinner under the stars on the terrace, where one may choose from a range of wines, and enjoy dinner by candlelight. 

Lounge & Bar – Sip a refreshing drink in the bar and lounge area. Fresh Tanzanian coffee and teas are complimentary from 5:45 am to get your day started before heading out on safari. Daily ‘sundowners’, on the terrace at 6 pm are also available for complimentary savories, and the unparalleled African sunset. Free Wi-Fi is available in this area.

Swimming Pool – Set among the shade of acacia trees, the inviting swimming pool provides a great location for an afternoon dip and a poolside cocktail. A shallow splash pool for children is available.

Baobab Boutique Gift Shop – Here you find a variety of handmade crafts by Tanzanian artisans and unique, specialty items to choose from. There are gifts for all ages, many of which support local women and craftsmen throughout Tanzania.
