ThornTree Camp Serengeti National Park

ThornTree Camp Serengeti National Park is a traditional, classic tented safari camp set up semi-permanently in the central Serengeti area, About 15 minutes drive from the Seronera airstrip and the visitor’s center.

Serengeti National Park is approximately 350kilometers from Arusha by road and the estimated driving time is five hours. The flying time from Arusha to Serengeti Seronera airstrip is approximately 2 hours.

The presence of permanent water makes this an ideal area for sighting elephants, lions, leopards, cheetah, and other species such as gazelle, warthog, impala, baboon as well as crocodiles and hippo in the waterholes.

ThornTree Camp Serengeti National Park has 15 spacious tents with a screened-in sitting area. Both twin and queen-sized beds are available. There is one two-bedroom suite with an adjoining common area for families and another tent with a second bedroom, great for children. Bathrooms have flush toilets and solar hot water taps and showers. 

Enjoy delicious meals prepared with fresh ingredients served in the tented dining room. Adjoining is a lounge tent where you can order your favorite drink whilst checking email with free wi-fi. After dinner enjoys stargazing and reminiscing about the day’s events around the campfire.

Nothing beats sleeping under canvas and the sounds of the African wilderness will lull you to sleep. ThornTree Camp is powered by solar including hot water and electricity. The attentive staff will make certain your stay is enjoyable and take good care of you.

Activities from the camp include; Game drives, bush walks, balloon safari, etc. Nearby is the Seronera Visitor’s Centre with an outdoor interpretative display; a self-guided educational walk combining the natural history of Serengeti as well as the history of Tanzania.
