Tloma Lodge Ngorongoro Crater Karatu Tanzania is a 3-star lodge located on the foothills of the highlands of Ngorongoro, on the outskirts of Karatu village.  The lodge has been built in a similar style to the old colonial farmhouses of the area, just 16 kilometers from the Ngorongoro Gate.

The excellent location of Tloma on the top of a valley offers fantastic views over a coffee plantation and the walls of the Ngorongoro cráter which can be enjoyed from the private terraces of the rooms.

The lodge is 143km, approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Arusha by road while flights take approximately 25 minutes. Air companies fly on schedule and charter basis to and from Arusha to the Manyara Airstrip on daily basis.

Tloma Lodge Ngorongoro Crater Karatu Tanzania is a small and exclusive lodge with 24 small cottages built in colonial style and 12 rooms overlooking the garden in the main building. The design of the entire complex looks to create an atmosphere evoking the colonial plantations and farms described in many books and films.

Chalet-type bedrooms are situated at ground level with a private terrace or balcony. Overlooking the gardens and/or coffee plantation. Ample and comfortable. Rooms with a double bed or two single beds. The rooms have a bathroom with a shower. The family room consists of two rooms with a door connecting the two rooms.

The main building is situated in the middle of the lodge and consists of a restaurant, lounge, and a large terrace with spectacular views of the Oldeani extinct volcano. There’s an outdoor swimming pool, a Massage cabin, and a Souvenir shop.

The restaurant offers market-style choices with locally grown produce on the farm. The gardens, full of flowers and bushes, are particularly attractive, and guests find it difficult to choose between a walk around the gardens or relaxing around the heated pool.

Activities available from Tloma Lodge include; Massages, swimming, Walking around the farm & coffee plantation, visiting ethnic groups, walking in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area escorted by a guide, etc.
