Umali Lodge Karatu Tanzania

Umali Lodge is a pocket-friendly lodge located at the edge of the Great Rift Valley, close to the entrance gate of Ngorongoro Crater. Arusha National Park is 3 hours drive from the premises, and 2.4km from the center of Karatu. The nearest airport, Arusha Airport is 110.5km from the lodge.

Umali Lodge has 13 en-suite guestrooms, clean, comfortable, and self-contained. Each unit has a king-sized bed with a closet, desk, bathroom, private bathtub, and hot solar shower. Each room has a patio for reading, relaxing, enjoying the view, or watching birds.

An electric outlet on each patio enables you to sit with your computer while you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Meals and drinks are served at the onsite restaurant and bar. Barbecue and a special diet menu can be arranged upon request. Complimentary breakfast is also served to the guests.

Activities available from Umali Lodge include; Walking around the farm & coffee plantation, and visits to the nearby parks. Umali Lodge is located amidst Iraqw people; there is evidence of their culture all around the compound.

Day trips can also be easily arranged to Lake Manyara, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Eyasie, home of the Hadza. The Serengeti, Arusha National Park, and Mount Kilimanjaro are approximately within three hours’ distance. Custom tours to all locations can be arranged through African Spice Safaris in advance.

* Children aged 13 years and above, pay the full room fee
* Children aged 6 – 12 years, sharing room with paying adult, 50% of charge
* One child aged 0 – 6 years, sharing a room with paying adult is free of charge
* For children aged 6 – 12 years, 100% for the first child, 50% for other children sharing the same room
