Voi Lutheran Guesthouse

Voi Lutheran Guesthouse is a no-alcohol, quiet, simple, budget, and easy access accommodation perfect for families in Voi. The guest house is about a kilometer outside of the city of Voi, 5.2 km from Standard Gauge Railway – Voi Railway Station and 44 km from Taita Hills, which offers very good views of it. The drive from Nairobi takes about 5-6 hours (326 km).

The guest house is located in a secluded area on Bogesunds Farm in Voi, 15 minutes drive from Tsavo East National Park. It sits in a secluded area on Bogesunds farm, a few km away from the city’s hustle and bustle along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Voi Lutheran Guesthouse is run by the Voi Lutheran Mission, a part of the Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church.

All profits from the guest house are used to fund church work with local orphaned children. The ground floor has 8 double rooms. These rooms are self-contained with hot showers, which are produced by the solar panels on the roof. The first floor has 2 double rooms and 4 family rooms.

These rooms are not self-contained, but guests can use the general ladies’/gents’ washroom on the ground floor, as they have a hot shower area. The rooms are well ventilated and have high ceilings for optimum comfort. One of the double rooms is decorated in classic Maasai style. All double rooms on the first level include spacious showers and toilets. All utilities are in excellent condition and include tiled walls. Hot water comes from the solar panels on the roof

On the same first floor is also a conference hall with space for about 50 people. The kitchen and office are just a short distance away, as is the dining room with open walls and a traditional African roof. Meals are provided(Breakfast, lunch, and dinner ).

The facility is well-suited for businesses and organizations wishing to arrange seminars, workshops, etc. With or without meals. The guest house is also very suitable for other occasions, like large garden weddings or smaller gatherings for groups of various kinds.

It is also located near one of Kenya’s renowned national parks, which is Tsavo East National Park. It is just 10–15 minutes by car from the guesthouse to the main park entrance. Knowledgeable staff with good contacts in the local community can assist with bookings of safaris in Tsavo National Park and other area attractions, or perhaps a visit to a Maasai village near Voi.

All profits from the guest house are used to fund church work with local orphaned children. The children live with caregivers in Voi and the surrounding areas. The number of children has increased continuously from its beginning in 2004, and now the program includes about 50 vulnerable children aged 4-20 years. They are assisted with school costs and other daily needs such as food, clothing, medicine, and even housing.
