This unique house, perched on a volcanic rock island overlooking lake Naivasha, has been stylishly designed and furnished in the contemporary chic vogue.  Ziwani aptly means “on the lake” in Kiswahili and within the glass and timber house, you have the sense of floating above the lake with spectacular views of Eburu, the Aberdare, and Mt. Longonot.

Featuring 6 en-suite luxurious double bedrooms, the house can sleep 9 guests and up to 2 guides or 11 guests and the host.  The location provides an ideal relaxing stop-off point on the safari circuit.

The main house comprises a series of open-plan spaces.   The sitting room has been designed with comfortable contemporary furniture to suit many social configurations, whether you want to sit in the peaceful indoor area or the glassed-in “goldfish bowl” overlooking the lake or work at the desk with high-speed wi-fi.  There is a fully stocked bar open at your convenience.

In the cool evenings, fires are lit to create a cozy atmosphere. The kid’s play area offers a space for kids to draw, play games, or do puzzles away from the sitting room.

The dining room features a stunning square table that seats twelve and has views of the lake.  A dramatic stained glass screen separates the dining area from the kid’s play area.

Much of the day is spent enjoying the outdoors from the wrap-around deck furnished with a series of outdoor seating areas and a dining area.  Sitting out here you feel that you are floating above the lake and you can watch the ever-changing scenes across the water and the islands at your leisure.

Ziwani Island Holiday Home has a gym and a spa, situated in a tent on a deck floating above the water. Walks to the top of the hill provide splendid views of the lake and the surrounding dramatic hilly countryside. Sundowners on the hill are a lovely experience at the end of the day.

Ziwani Island House Lake Naivasha’s activities include fishing, water skiing, climbing up the nearby Mount Longonot, and Golfing at the Great Rift Valley Lodge.

You can also choose to go for game viewing in Lake Nakuru, rock climbing in Hell’s gate, view flamingoes on the nearby Lake Oloidien and Crater Lake, visiting showcase flower farms and the geothermal plant at Ol Karia.

Boat cruises around Lake Naivasha for bird and hippo watching are popular as well as walks amongst the game on Crescent Island private game sanctuary.
