Day 1: Mombasa – Taita Hills Game Sanctuary 

0600 Hours – 0700 Hours: Early morning pick-up from your Mombasa/Diani hotel and departure
1030 Hours – 1130 Hours: Arrive at the Taita Hills Game Sanctuary and start a morning game drive en route
1300 Hours – 1430 Hours: Check in at the lodge (Taita Hills Resort or Salt Lick) and enjoy lunch
1430 Hours – 1530 Hours: Time to relax, enjoying views of the waterhole from the lodge.
1530 Hours – 1830 Hours: Evening game drive in the sanctuary to spot lions, elephants, and buffalo

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, located in the Coast Province, Taita-Taveta District, approximately 220 kilometres from Mombasa.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 280,000 acres (1,100 km2) and is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park and the LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary.

It hosts Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, Giraffe, Zebra, Hartebeest, Impala, Waterbuck, Thomson’s gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, as well as a great diversity of bird life.

0800 Hours; After a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Mombasa, you will depart by road to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Have lunch on arrival at Taita Hills Lodge.

After lunch, game drive in the sanctuary until sunset. During our afternoon game drive, you may see lions, cheetahs, baboons, giraffes, elephants etc.

Dinner and overnight at Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge. Salt Lick Lodge is especially memorable for its imaginative structure.

A complex of rondavels sits on stilts over a series of water holes. The two-store towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs, are connected by open-air bridges, creating an African fantasy of a medieval fortress.

The lodge has been built with game viewing in mind – you can see animals in all directions because it offers spectacular open views.

1400 Hours: After lunch departs back to Mombasa overland arriving in the early evening. Transfer and drop off at your Beach Hotel.
