Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

0700 Hours – 1100 Hours: Departure from Nairobi and drive to Tsavo West
1200 Hours – 1400 Hours: Check-in, lunch, and relaxation at the lodge/camp
1530 Hours – 1830 Hours: Afternoon game drive, including a visit to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary or Chaimu Lava Crater 

Day 2: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park

0600 Hours – 0830 Hours: Early morning game drive, including a visit to Mzima Springs
0900 Hours – 1300 Hours: Breakfast, followed by a scenic drive towards Amboseli
1300 Hours – 1500 Hours: Check-in and lunch at the Amboseli Lodge/ Camp
1530 Hours – 1830 Hours: Afternoon game drive in Amboseli, focusing on views of Mount Kilimanjaro and elephant herds

Day 3: Full Day in Amboseli National Park

0600 Hours – 0900 Hours: Early morning game drive (best time to see Kilimanjaro before clouds cover the summit)

Day 4: Amboseli to Nairobi

The tour begins in Nairobi and can end either in Nairobi or Mombasa.  We explore both wildlife parks on 4×4 game drives in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife found in these beautiful reserves of southern Kenya.

Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and close-range wildlife sightings with the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as a scenic backdrop. Tsavo, best known for its lions, is one of Kenya’s oldest and one of the world’s largest reserves.

Our tour starts with two days in Amboseli National Park – home to large herds of elephants, whose population is among the few in Africa that have been spared by poachers. Amboseli is located on the border with the neighbouring country of Tanzania and is renowned for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants.

Predators in the park include hyenas, jackals, lions, leopards and cheetahs. Birdlife flourishes in abundance, particularly in the marshes and swamps. Over 420 species have been counted within the park as a whole, including 6 species of vulture, 12 species of heron and 10 varieties of eagle.

We then continue to Tsavo West National Park. Together, Tsavo West National Park and Tsavo East National Park make up one of the largest animal sanctuaries in the world. The terrain encompasses vast plains and an interesting geological landscape, including cones, outcrops, and lava flows resulting from historic volcanic activity.

The area has a wide variety of wildlife, including lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hippo, elephant, oryx, eland, zebra, giraffe, spotted hyena, kongoni, waterbuck, impala, duiker and klipspringer.

On the last day of our Kenyan wildlife adventure, we had breakfast and then drove back through rural Kenya to the capital city, Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you can be transferred to the international airport or post-safari accommodation of your choice.
