7 Days 6 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Lewa Downs Masai Mara is a fantastic fly-in safari including a stay in two of Kenya’s top wildlife regions, Laikipia and the Maasai Mara. Suited to those hoping to enjoy a greater degree of exclusivity, both camps are located within private conservancies and so offer a quieter safari experience, away from the crowds.
This trip begins with a flight from Nairobi to Laikipia’s Lewa Conservancy – a 62,000-acre ranch and wildlife sanctuary located south of Isiolo town and North of Mount Kenya. The Conservancy is home to The Big Five and a diverse array of wildlife.
It supports a myriad of plains game species all perfectly adapted for the semi-desert environment and Grevy’s Zebra and the Reticulated Giraffe are common. Additionally, the lance-like horned Beisa Oryx and the rare Greater Kudu are seasonal visitors, and the Guenther’s Dikdik, the giraffe-necked Gerenuk, and the beautiful blue-legged Somali Ostrich are resident all year round.
Lewa Conservancy also boasts a greater range of activities, game drives, guided walks, camel safaris, horseback riding, biplane flights, pre-historic site visits, community Crafts & visits to selected villages and schools.
After 3 Nights in Lewa Downs, we fly to Mara North Conservancy – a beautiful private wilderness area of more than 25,000 hectares (~61,000 acres) located to the north-western zone, bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the south of Kenya.
Big cats are plentiful in the Masai Mara, one of the best places in Africa to find leopards, lions, and cheetahs. Visit between (roughly) late July and the end of September to witness the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara, when hundreds and thousands of migratory wildebeest pour over the plains and crisscross the Mara River.

Safari Itinerary in Detail
Day 1, 2 & 3: Nairobi – Fly to Lewa Downs Conservancy
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by an African Spice Safaris representative who will transfer you to Wilson Airport.
You will take the 1020 Hours Safarilink flight to Lewa Conservancy. On arrival, you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Lewa Safari Camp. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.
Lewa Safari Camp has a stunning location within Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with outstanding game viewing and spectacular views of Mt. Kenya. The camp has exquisite gardens with a large sunny verandah and swimming pool to enjoy during the day and cosy log fires for more chilly evenings.
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is home to about 10% of Kenya’s black rhino population and the largest population of Grevy’s zebra in the world. Lewa serves as a safe refuge for the critically endangered black rhino and the endangered Grevy’s zebra, as well as the elephant, lion, giraffe, wild dog, and other iconic wildlife species in Kenya.
The Conservancy is also home to more than 400 species of birds. Lewa re-invests all the profits generated from tourism (including profits from Lewa Safari Camp) into its core programs.

Day 4, 5 & 6: Lewa Downs – Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the 0935 Hours Safarilink scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. On arrival, you will be met by a representative from Elephant Pepper Camp who will transfer you to the camp with game viewing en route.
Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.
Elephant Pepper Camp is a small and exclusive safari camp, situated in the heart of Masai Mara’s protected Mara North Conservancy. Mara North Conservancy is located in the north-western zone, bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the south of Kenya.
The camp looks out across Mara’s vast open savannah plains. Our spacious canvas tents are comfortably furnished, featuring solar lighting, and en suite bathrooms with eco-friendly flush toilets and traditional safari showers.
Wildlife to be found here includes lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hyena, elephant, crocodile, wild dog, giraffe, hippopotamus, and over 450 bird species.
Elephant Pepper Camp brings people back to nature – no traffic, no permanent structures, just the sights and sounds of the African bush. Activities include bird watching and horseback riding. nature walks, balloon safaris, cultural visits, bush breakfasts day and night game drives.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Fly to Nairobi – Transfer Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, at 1000 Hours you will transfer to the airstrip to catch the 1100 Hours Safarilink flight back to Nairobi.
Arriving at 1215 Hours, an African Spice Safaris representative will meet and transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or to the international airport for your journey home.
