Kutazama Lodge Shimba Hills Kwale Mombasa South Coast is set amidst 31 acres of indigenous gardens within the lush greenery of the Shimba Hills Conservation Area in Kenya. Shimba Hills Conservation Area consists of Mkongani Forest Reserves,  Shimba Hills National Reserve, and Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary.

The lodge is a 30 minutes drive from Diani Beach on the shores of the Indian Ocean. There are 2 suites namely Frangipani Suite and Orchid Treehouse Villa, all featuring natural elements that are complemented with Swahili native art. Each suite comes with a butler and a chef.

The Frangipani Suite has a large en-suite bedroom with double French doors to the front and double solid carved doors opening into a lounging area with open aspects at the front. The en-suite bathroom features double vanity units, a bidet, a toilet, and a double shower.

There is also a private sundeck next to the bedroom which includes a beautiful full-moon Jacuzzi set into natural rocks. The Orchid Treehouse Villa has 2 levels. The lower level comprises a large bedroom with carved arched entrance doors, a Jacuzzi deck, and an en-suite bathroom with a large double shower, 2 vanity sinks, a toilet, and a matching bidet.

The upper level features a kitchen and a comfortable lounge with trees as the backdrop, lush plants, and dramatic rock. There is also raised open deck and sunbathing terrace. At the far end of the deck is a large covered dining terrace with the most spectacular views across the elephant sanctuary.

There is also the main house which incorporates airy open-beam traditionally thatched roofs. There is a spacious lounge with authentic pieces of African tribal arts, a well-stocked bar, and an open-plan kitchen area.

The main house also has a raised dining deck which is ideal for candle-lit dinners. Kutazama Lodge Shimba Hills Kwale Mombasa South Coast has a huge double-tiered pool set under a 30 feet high cliff.

There is a small waterfall from the top cliff to the upper pool and then to the lower pool. The lower pool features 4 underwater seats facing the dramatic sunsets and an infinity edge overlooking the sanctuary. There is a barbecue area for alfresco dining when the underwater pool lights create a magical nighttime atmosphere.

The gardens are extensively terraced with many paths leading to viewing points and shaded patio areas. The gardens have exotic trees, shrubs, and flowers. There are also many species of birds and exotic butterflies.

Activities in Kutazama Lodge include village visits, nature walks, and visits to the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary and Chitsanze waterfall. Guests may enjoy game drives to the Shimba Hills National Reserve and water activities in Diani Beach.
