You spend one night at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge – a 4-star luxury safari hotel in Amboseli National Park. This Amboseli fly-in safari begins with a collection in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. Today we wake up bright and early, have breakfast, leave our residence in Nairobi, head to Wilson airport, and catch the scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park at 0730 hours. 

Arriving at the airstrip, we proceed on a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is Kenya’s second most popular African safari destination. Known as the ‘land of giants’, herds of elephants drift across the dusty plains and dip in the marshy reedbeds. It is the home of big tuskers and the longest-running study of wild elephants in the world.

Elephants are not the only wildlife in Amboseli National Park, although they are undoubtedly the stars of the show. Amboseli is home to four of the Big Five safari animals (lions, leopards, buffalo, and elephants) as well as numerous other African animals.

Breathtaking scenery, large herds of elephants, big tuskers, and abundant birdlife, all in a compact and easily accessible game reserve, make Kenya’s Amboseli National Park an incredible African safari destination.

We explore  Amboseli National Park in an open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle, and arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, followed by free time to relax and settle in. Then we have afternoon tea, before setting off for a local Maasai village. Walking in the town with a Maasai guide enables us to experience the local culture and see how the Maasai live.

After our encounter with the most famous tribe in Kenya – the Maasai, we embark on a game drive. Our night drive ends back at the lodge in time for dinner and another restful evening in the bush.

On day two, we leave the Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge after breakfast, driving to the airstrip for our scheduled flight to Nairobi. Day 1: Nairobi Fly to Amboseli National Park

0630: This morning, after breakfast at your hotel/ residence in Nairobi, we transfer to Wilson Airport for our scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park.

0730 Hours: Fly to Amboseli Airstrip located inside Amboseli National Park.

0805 Hours: Upon landing, you will be met by our professional safari driver guide and proceed for a morning game drive looking out for elephants, buffalo, impala, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebra, and wildebeest, among other African animals. There is also a host of large and small birds to see if you keep your eyes open and stop at every sighting.

1230 Hours: We arrive at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge for lunch. Later, we settle in to relax and explore Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

1500 Hours: We enjoy a cup of tea/ coffee or hot chocolate with homemade biscuits/ cake as we prepare for the afternoon game drive.

1530 Hours: Embark on the afternoon game drive.  Amboseli National Park is known for its large herd of over 900 free-ranging elephants. Enjoy the views of Mount Kilimanjaro, and visit the observation Hill, which overlooks the park, swamps, and, of course, the herds of free-roaming elephants.

Later, we meet the Masai people and learn about the Masai culture and their indigenous lifestyle.

1830 Hours: Return to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
