3-Day Fly-In Safari Karen Blixen Camp Mara is a luxury air safari from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve and back, offering Africa’s finest game viewing from the eco-friendly Karen Blixen Camp.

Explore the private Masai Mara North Conservancy and Masai Mara National Reserve on 4×4 game drives. This Masai Mara Fly-in Safari begins with a scheduled flight from the Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Mara North Airstrip at Masai Mara.

Flying out of the capital of Kenya at about 1000 hours, we reach the Mara North Airstrip by about 1100 hours. A driver from the Karen Blixen Camp meets you at the airstrip and transfers you to the Karen Blixen Camp inside the private Mara North Conservancy.

As we drive into the conservancy, we look out for wildlife en route to the camp. After settling in and enjoying lunch at the camp, we set off on a sunset game drive.

We take game drives in specially adapted 4×4 safari vehicles with open sides for excellent visibility. Highly skilled, qualified guides search for wildlife and share their knowledge in the bush. We stop at a scenic spot in Mara North Conservancy to watch the sunset over the rugged bush.

Then we make our way back to the safari camp for a hearty dinner, before relaxing around the campfire and enjoying the sounds of the African bush at night.

On day two, after an early breakfast at camp, we head into Kenya’s leading game park to see wildlife and experience the legendary Masai Mara Game Reserve. The national reserve hosts a wide range of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo), which we may encounter.

During peak season, we are likely to see the Great Migration in action – an unforgettable sight! Witness more than a million wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and other wildlife on the move as they migrate to greener plains. We pause for a picnic lunch, then continue our exploration into the late afternoon.

Then we return to Karen Blixen Camp for dinner, chat around the fire, and enjoy nature in peace and quiet.

On our last morning on day 3, we head straight into the bush on a game walk or drive. Walk with a skilled Maasai guide in the unspoiled Mara North Conservancy, hosting numerous herbivores and predators. Alternatively, we take a 4×4 game drive before tucking into breakfast at Karen Blixen Camp.

After breakfast, we depart from the Karen Blixen Camp and make our way back to the Mara North Airstrip. We catch a scheduled flight at 1100 hours, leaving the incredible Mara ecosystem behind as we fly back to Wilson Airport.

We land in Nairobi at about 1215 hours, bringing our remarkable 3-day fly-in Masai Mara journey to a close.

Day 1: Nairobi to Mara North Conservancy

1000 Hours: Board your scheduled morning flight (such as Safarilink or a local carrier) from Wilson Airport in Nairobi. (Note: Reporting time at Wilson Airport is typically 1 hour prior; baggage is strictly limited to 15 kg in soft-sided bags)

1100 Hours: Arrive at the local airstrip in the Mara North Conservancy

1115 Hours – 1200 Hours: Meet your driver-guide and enjoy a scenic game-drive transfer (about 40–45 minutes) to the Karen Blixen Camp

1200 Hours – 1300 Hours: Arrive at camp for a warm welcome drink, check-in, and camp orientation by the manager
